Okay, so, with the flooding of newbies because of the release of Heartland (in a week!), I thought that maybe we needed a newbies thread? Not because I want to put the newbies in a corner of anything, but we usually weren't more than a few people in this community. And I'd like to know the new people a bit more.
Oh and Welcome to all!

Hi Scarychips, My name is Paul. I'm from Glasgow. I eat children. ...no but really I think this is a good idea, I was once quite the persistent thread lurker for almost a year before I finally decided to make an account, and even then I waited a couple months fearing judgement before making my first post! ooh goodness, I think this is it?! the piano sheet music for lamb sells condos posted by owen is terrific, however i was wondering if anyone would be up for the challenge of scoring the violin looping version peformed live. im giving it a try but i can promise failure. hmm, still never got to figuring it out.. huh, well I'll get to it.. eventually.Well, if any of you fear us, don't. Introduce yourselves. Once we get to know you and still don't reply to you, then fear us. Looking at the dates, I'm really embarrassed how short I have been a member and how many posts I've made. jeez, sorry guys.

Now people will think you are really named Paul, Richie. And if we are unto reminiscing, here's my first post: It's not the same song Franx's talking about. He was talking about the recorded version of "Hey Dad" that Owen did with Zach Condon of Beirut. I also browsed through my other posts and I am proud to say my English got better! Yay me! So, yes, people, present yourself! We love you! We need you!

First post nostalgia... Bless this board. It makes me feel part of something very grand. A question: The audio track for the "(This is the Dream) of..." video on YouTube is not the version to be found on "Has a Good Home." So, where can it be found? The shouted "AWAY!"s from our dear singer at the fade clinch this as a golden track, the definitive version, and the completist in me wants it as my own. With warmest regards. Hello, again! The boards still make me feel part of something quite grand. I guess just thirty posts probably qualifies for newbie status, and I never did properly introduce myself, so... I'm Altman (first name) from South Dakota. I'm a painter, my first FF show was in Minneapolis at First Ave. (where I snagged a hand-written setlist, one of my prized possessions...), and right now I'm trying to keep my stomach from growling audibly in the high school library where waiting between sessions of an Art 1 class that I'm teaching to six half-interested students. (Isn't actually, like, three students?) My friend Steph is a member of the very active Flaming Lips forums, and I think with this influx of new friends and action on the Owen Pallett board we should start emulating their mix tape exchanges and Secret Santa. How's about it? Hmm?

I'm Peter Heke, though I probaby had another username a while ago...I don't recall. I live in a place called Worlds End, I write amatuer poetry, do a job (and geeky things in my spare time), and my name is not Peter Heke. I'm planning a holiday to Boston, to meet the man I was in a past life.
I post here because I enjoy exploring Owen's writing; that, to me, is as important (and sometimes more important) than the music. I've come to appreciate a number of songs I didn't much enjoy after reading the lyrics...the reverse has never been true.

I've been half-active for a while, but I'm still practically a lurker.
My name is Øistein, and I'm from Norway. I at high school, and probably starting chemistry-studies next year to escape military :3 I like to draw and play music. I like even better to listen to music, and that drains loads of my time and attention. My first post here was that Owen Pallett-portrait-thread I think.

Hey there. I'm a long time Final Fantasy fan who just recently realized he had a message board. I'm here to stay up to speed on new stuff and get some help/constructive criticism on some of the banjo covers I play of his songs.

Hejjj. My name is Clara and I'm from France. I signed up because I've been lurking as a non registered person and wanted to be part of this board. I only started listening to Owen since October. I play the violin and love covering his songs =). I'm at high school (this is my last year) and might go to medical school next year. If that fails, I said I'd study Swedish, Norwegian and Icelandic. XD

Hi, I'm Iris, 17 years old and from The Netherlands. I'm a bit afraid to post but check this board quite often (also because of my (dis)ability to write in english), so I'm mostly a lurker (I also was before I became a member). I play several types of recorders pretty well and I play the saxophone and a few more instruments, but not really that good to name them. Obviously I'm here because I love Owen Pallett's music, but I'm also a real music loving person in general. I've seen Owen live this summer in Utrecht, but if he comes again I will obviously go again.

Good thread! It's nice to see who people are. My name is Florence, and I'm fond of this board already (despite rarely posting) because of the live bootlegs it has provided me with in the past. I love Final Fantasy Owen Pallett's music. And everyone here seems lovely, so it's all good. edit - I see that I've been a member since the end of 2008, but I DO still qualify as a newb, promise
