Welcome to you Shona. I myself picked up the violin after listening to Owen's music. So, I can relate. =D

Hey everyone, I'm a really boring girl. I'm really shy, but I can honestly talk your ears off if I become truly acquainted with you. I'm studying psychology at university, and it's really fun, but I can't do math and it's turning into a real problem. I've been an Owen fan for a while, and I've seen him live twice, because I actually haven't been going to concerts all too long. I can't play any instruments, and I'm honestly afraid of all of you. X) It's the main reason I've never joined until now. Also, it's difficult to decide which thread to post on. Waaay too many to choose from. And also, I'm a grammar junkie, so it's nice to see all the good spellers on here. (:

Haha, are you implying that I use semi-colons incorrectly? I know that I do quite often in essays. Oh, I also hate when people pronounce the "t" in often. It's just WRONG.

No, no; I'm merely implying that correct punctuation is sexy as shit.

I want to learn violin so badly right now, but I have too many instruments I'm trying to learn right now as it is... *sigh*.
Also I recently picked up my bandmate's viola and wrote a few simple bits and pieces to add to a few of my songs, and now I want a viola too. Instrument addiction is a dangerous thing. A huge drain on time and monetary resources.

A huge drain on time and monetary resources. I know the exact feeling. I like buying instruments that I plan to learn and then I get busy and end up not learning them. I bought myself a violin the other year and still haven't learnt how to play it. Maybe I will try to pick it up again soon. I figure seen as I actually haven't introduced myself maybe I should, though I'm always useless at these sorts of things. Oh well, here goes: Hello, I'm dot on the internet and Lana in real life. I live in London (UK, not one of the other funny ones). I'm a medical student. I play guitar and Bb clarinet, though I attempt to play numerous other instruments. I can't really think of anything more to say... Nice to meet you all, I will try and post more often.

A huge drain on time and monetary resources. Ignore the violin and focus on the viola! Everyone loves and needs more viola in their life. Also, little known fact, it can do all the same things as the violin, but more attractively. And every ensemble, be it orchestra, string quartet, or rock band will want you. Hi dot! I hope you do post more.

A huge drain on time and monetary resources. I wish I could play the violin. Unfortunately I am death to all stringed instruments. One time my friend got fed up with his violin, so he let me take it home for a night. I had the time of my life rocking out on it, so much so that when I gave it back to him, the bow was completely shredded beyond recognition. He was not pleased. Another friend made the mistake of lending me her harp, but when I tried tuning this one finicky string, it snaped. I nearly had a heart attack. That basically ended that relationship. My most recent incursion happened when I was rehearsing at my friend's apartment studio. One of my personal heros, Rob Cole, lives there, so I decided to fiddle around with his ukelele and be all fanboyish. I put it back on the shelf where I found it, but about 15 minutes into my rehearsal the same ukelele fell to the ground and broke. Luckily he's a really nice guy, and I'm making up for it by playing in his band. Now I get nervous if I ever stand too close to Owen Pallett while he's performing. I wear velcro shoes for this exact reason.

Hello! I'm Jon, studying in Paris at the moment on a year abroad! Seeing Owen live on friday and just finished first semester exams saw final fantasy last year at field day festival in london and it blew my mind. missed out on seeing him last time in paris three years ago, so really looking forward to seeing him soon. Never really posted on a "forum" before, if that what this is, but will let you all know how the gig goes!

I'm a little late to this thread but yeah, I'm Jason! I've been here for about 4.5 years, so I'm not really new, but introductions are always in order. I joined this forum for Xiu Xiu way back when, and now I don't even listen to them anymore. I enjoy video games, composition, and singing/songwriting!

I'm Sam (Sam I am!), from Edmonton (and I see upthread there's another poor soul from here, so hello). I'm in university procrastinating my way through an English degree. I think I found out about Owen in 2006 when people kept comparing him to Patrick Wolf, who used to be my One True Love. Anyways, Heartland finally showed up in my mailbox today so I decided to lose my forum virginity. Hello!
