Hi, I'm Riki, not living in Atlantis but in Frankfurt, Germany. Writing in English is not that easy to me (especially the prepositions...), so I prefer lurking. What to say else? I fell in love with Mr. Palletts music last summer, but did not tried yet to play his songs on the Ukulele. Now I'm waiting for Heartland (OMG, I did this fan-things: Preordering the LP in UK!). Just read here on/at this board that Owen Pallett will come to Frankfurt in March!!! Yej, yippieh ...
Now I also lost my forum virginity (and it did not hurt).

Hi, I’m Richard. I joined around the time FF came to play at RNCM in Manchester last year.
I really enjoy this board as it has so many people who are involved in their own artistic endeavours, though it can be daunting!
I am so glad I found this crazy, elegant music – (this isn’t done I know, to compare dance with musical composition) but for me, Owen’s music has something of the same effect as performances of dancers or pianists trained in the Russian tradition – you know, someone like Evgeny Kissin who has extreme musical and technical mastery but whose performances have a ‘light’ almost crystal brilliance. Owen’s compositions feel like that.
Sometimes I’d like to seek answers to questions such as, why is E for Estranged driving me mad with its melancholic beauty – is it the orchestration, key, progressions?
Poetry, music, design, the Dark Tower books and being near the sea are some of my favourite things.

Hello, I'm Susan and I wonder if I am Owen's oldest fan at 39? I discovered Owen when my husband left me and my friend made me a mix CD with "This Lamb Sells Condos" on it. I don't play any instruments really. I used to play alto sax in high school 2 decades ago. This year I want to learn piano, so I'm glad for all the piano scores. I am also a former WarCraft addict. And also really like these German board games also that in the US are considered "gamer games".
I've met Jamie at the Halifax concert and Emili & dannyboy at the Toronto Heartland release. It's always fun to bump into you guys at the concerts. Ok back to my regular lurking personality...
Also, anyone know how tall Owen is? I always thought he was shorter prior to going to concerts.

Hey Susan! Welcome! And you're not the oldest, pretty sure we've had older. I don't know for sure, but at best estimate Owen's probably right around six feet.

Hi Susan...There are a few fans I know who are all in their 50's, so I'm still young in my late 40's. Lurking is fine by the way, it's like being in at the theatre, so people want to be actors and other want to sit back and enjoy the show. Hmm does that make me one of the unoffical announcers Oh and Owens is about .....this.....tall......., but I do know that Abraham Lincoln was 6ft 4" in his socks..its amazing how a random comment made in a history lesson 35 years ago sticks in the brain.

I always thought Owen was taller. On stage he looks taller, as do most people.
Walked by him one day (didn't say hi), i would say he's like 5,5 or 5,6.

When he and I were chatting and he hugged me, I do remember him being slightly shorter than I...putting him at about 5'11".

I'm 5'7" and he is most definitely a FAIR bit taller than me. but um, tall i suppose is a good answer to this question that seems to be getting several mixed responses for such a small question.

Then I won't make any small inquiries into what people think he weighs then?
