HI. I'm Dave from Ireland and I am score and 3 years old. I was linked here from another forum for some reason (totally can't remember what for) and then started reading the discussion about Heartland and the totally awesome show with the Symphony Nova Scotia (which I am now listening to for the third time through). A little about me: I've just finished college and started work. I play bass (~10 years) and guitar (~4 yrs) and play in a prog-rock band. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean I don't listen to bucketloads of indie as well as prog (and I do). I've been listening to Owen's music for many years now and he just keeps getting better and better. I also like orange juice and snow. Nice to make y'alls acquantaince

Glad to've found this welcoming place.... OK, that's all! ..you failed to mention me entirely. clare, I know how you feel. You can imagine the Owen Pallett fan base in the pacific islands aren't extremely immense. ..It wasn't until this past October did I actually see him perform for the first time. and that was only because I was traveling.... I never thought I would actually see him (which is why I joined this board, to feel like I'm experiencing everything too) so don't give up, you'll see him! -also, my sister was in Seoul yesterday! (it was only because her flight from Mumbai transfered there before coming back here..but.. that still counts. right?) I WILL SEE HIM SOOOOOOOON. I HOPE I WILL. and your sister. That would be technically not Seoul. The airport itself is in a city named In-Cheon which is near Seoul.

Hm, so I probably never really introduced myself. I'm Charles, from nowhere in particular in the middle of the UK. I can't wait to leave England.

I've been lurking intermittently since 2007, so I thought it might be time to actually introduce myself.
I'm Meghan, I'm a Canadian grad student studying pop music and culture. I'm not particularly musically gifted, so I mostly stick to the media studies side of things (and love music, obviously).
I first saw Owen in 2004 on the Vinyl Cafe Christmas tour. He was great, but I didn't really become a big fan until I saw him again at LOLA in 2007. I then spent two years trying (and miserably failing) to see him live again, until the stars finally aligned (and/or I started looking for gig listings in different places) for Hillside Festival in July '09 . I'm pretty thrilled with all the Ontario shows in the coming months (Toronto! Guelph! London!).
Anyway, hi everyone!

I remember he played "That's When the Audience Died" and "This is the Dream of Win and Regine" in Kitchener, and a cover of Joni Mitchell's "River" with Harmony Trowbridge, and sang a verse of "Go Tell It on the Mountain" which was an encore, je pense. But I remember listening to a broadcast of a different show which had "Song Song Song" in it, and where he sang different lyrics, like 'got a son who'll eat anything' which...is...
Well, I don't know if it's real.

You are the same Matt from this: launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/justmade ? Came upon this Yahoo group while searching for some Regina Spektor sheets. =D

Anthony! He is he is!
He not only created that one, but also the Regina sheets!
I've always enjoyed those Regina sheets soo much! ((I was a bit star struck really when Matt said he was the uncredited transcriber))

Ha, yes, I made that group before Richie told me about this place, as when searching for a FF fansite/message board I just couldn't find one... That's funny, I was just talking about Regina in another thread.. Yeah, back in 2004 I think I transcribed all of Soviet Kitsch and a handful of (then) unreleased tracks, then did a few from Begin to Hope. Other people have contributed too, and now the 'Regispek' sheet music group has 42,000+ members. And I'm kicking myself for not putting my name/myspace on the transcription, as it's now all over the internet and as a piano-y singer-songwriter myself I feel I could've got a bit of vicarious coverage through the Regina fanbase... but no matter! Hope you enjoy them

I must admit, I am a bit starstruck myself right now. Cause I am working on maybe a violin cover of a Regina Spektor song and it is extremely helping. I admire your work. (and miss Spektor's work, of course ^_^)
