Hey Owen, any updates on the album progress?

We haven't heard anything in a while, and the anticipation of whats to come is killing me!

I'm mixing the album right now with Leon. It's sounding real cool. I'm really into the sound of my MIDIVerb 2's reverse reverb on my voice. I have some people I want to get sing backing vocals on it, though. Any thoughts? I want to get Annie Lennox to sing on it, think she'll go for it?

I guess I kind of answered the question without actually answering the question. The release date for the record, originally intended for this fall, will not be happening. This is for several reasons. Some of them are self-evident (I work hard on record but not exactly quickly). Others are private (death in the family). Others are exciting and fun and you'll know why in a couple months why I couldn't possibly put out a record this fall.

Thanks for the quick reply, I know it'll be worth the wait, at least we have the live versions in the meantime. I'd hope she'd go for it, it's not like she has a lot going on these days; well besides activism. I'm also curious to see what you mean by that cryptic last statement!

These live recordings of Song for Five and Six are sounding great, Personally I'm very excited for #OPLPIV (so proud of myself for coming up with such a non-inventive code-name for an album that already has a name, and introducing it so late in the process)

Tilda Swinton has already been claimed. So has Buffy Sainte-Marie, curse that lanky boy. In the great Pokémon game of collecting 50+ singer-songwriter guest spots, I'm down several points

The problem with getting Feist as a guest vocalist, as [band] and [band] have learned, is that the tiny girl has such vocal chops that she overpowers, steals the show. I'm already a B+ singer, she'll just make me sound completely useless

argh, I thought it was right around the corner. the anticipation is killing me. but, I'll find a way to keep busy. I thought this time I'd wait for the album to come around without listening to live recordings of the new material beforehand, but now I'm not so sure I'll manage not to break. in a way, though, it is nice to feel strong anticipation for something again. it doesn't happen too often.
