Hallo, lovelies! This was such an interesting thread in 2008 and.. well.. someone had to do it, right?? Shall I start with the obvious? Of course!!! 1. HEARTLAND - Final Fantasy (well, duh!) The very thought of the release of this album - and subsequent tour! - is filling me with a horribly embarrassing eek!-jumping-up-and-down kind of joy. Indeed! I'm sure we're all in agreement on this so 'nuff said. "a home in our Heartland, a heart in our homeland... lalala" Which brings me to the next album on my "OMG!! I can't fucking wait!!!" list. 2. BATTLE - Patrick Wolf This promises to be an extremely interesting release. I've only heard snippets so far, but so far, so good! It's exciting that he's left the Mr. Monster Corporation Record Label to self-release it on his own label, Bloody Chamber Music. Well, I can't bloody wait!!! 3. VS. CHILDREN - CFTPA A Full Length Album???!!! Dear god, can you feel the excitement??? Hell, yes!!! Obviously I'm missing loads of artists here (namely, Grizzly Bear <3) but as I mostly rely on reccommendations for new music I can't wait to see what you all post here! Soo.... carry on!!.....

I sure hope Lewis Takes Off His Shirt and Scandal At The Parkade stay on, 'cause then it would get my vote for sure.

So far I like all of these
The Irrepressibles - From The Circus To The Sea EP (Musical Theater at its brilliant best) Handsome Furs - Face Control (much better than Plague Park) Bell Orchestre - As Seen Through Windows (what can you say) Hank - The Luck of the Singers (based on demo's because I've not heard final cut yet) Beirut - March of the Zapotec/Holland EPs (prefer Holland myself although both good) Wild Light - Adult Nights (a worthy first album) Six Organs of Admittance – RTZ (weird but wonderful)
I feel so dull and predictable
Oh and looking forward to the Dag For Dag debut which is going to be out soonish.

I sure hope Lewis Takes Off His Shirt and Scandal At The Parkade stay on, 'cause then it would get my vote for sure. I have terrible, wonderful news for you: Neither of these songs are on the Heartland album... But they will be released in some fashion, and at least one of them sounds amazing.

But they will be released in some fashion, and at least one of them sounds amazing. does this mean "at least one of them" has already began the process of being recorded? Oh now you are just teasing us! --for some reason sarpedon, i think you were just bluffing about even contemplating giving Heartland your vote or not.

Man, my taste in music usually doesn't seem to fit in here but my favorite so far is The Empyrean by John Frusciante and the ones Im looking forward to are
Anything the Zappa family trust decides to release, they usually do a few every year Amor Vincit Omnia by Pure Reason Revolution The Century of Self by ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead Crack the Skye by Mastodon Worse than Alone by The Number Twelve Looks Like You and of course Heartland
and as far as I know King Crimson is working on new stuff. If that got released this year I would be beyond stoked.
Im sure I missed a few but swhateva.

Crack the Skye by Mastodon I'm sure that you saw the album cover. Anyways, I'm waiting for lots of releases. and one that seems to be forgotten is Owen Ashworth's new Casiotone album.

I'd still be happy with just the live recordings, but seeing at least one released would be fantastic! and by the way Richie, I wasn't bluffing... just being dramatic also, I didn't say it wouldn't get my vote if they weren't on there, just that it definitely would if they were.

Well, I'd say Merriweather Post Pavillion is still the best so far. I have also heard: Telepathe - Dance Mother Blackout Beach - Skin of Evil Antony & The Johnsons - The Crying Light Lotus Plaza - The Floodlight Collective Larsen - La Fever Fit
which are all amazing, and looking forward to Heartland - obviously - as well as new Grizzly Bear, Dan Deacon, Lightning Bolt, Dirty Projectors (two, apparently?), Boredoms. I hadn't heard of the new CFTPA album, so now I'm excited about that too. oh and Black Lips might be worth listening to..

at least one of them sounds amazing. Mumble... If you put it this way, sounds rather threatening... As for 2009 albums.. I'm afraid I haven't listened to much 2009 albums yet to babble about that... heh...

I'd heard of the tracklisting last year and couldn't wait.. Feist with Grizzly Bear, David Byrne with Dirty Projectors, Nico Muhly with The National, The Books with Jose Gonzalez, and so on... I've downloaded it, very guiltily, and it's excellent. Perhaps the most important music purchase of the year.
