Owen, why do you taunt us with your early access to amazing music?
I think a Final Fantasy cover of (((GRRRLS))) could sound brilliant. Does that "Stutterer" thing make things sound all weird and disintegrated?

If the new one is as good as the last I'll be happy, but it is a bit early to be announcing this year last next best thing in my opinion. Owen will probably go off them when I mention that they included Holiday Hymn by Orange Juice in last xmas freebie download as they hadn't done one of there own  Wrong! What's "The Best" is what *is* the best, not what is "better than all this other stuff that will be released this year". Down with comparative listening! Up with Parenthetical Girls! And I've come to terms with the fact that I'm the only man in the world who doesn't like Orange Juice. (I know some girls, though.) |

their last post on the slender means website says it's called 'entanglements' but no word on the release date....
(& i'm thinkin' the crystal castles new album coming out in march is gonna be some kinda kickass!!)

oh wow i am listening to safe as houses
and i really like it
plus they are playing a show at my school in two months which is great because it's cheap and close
and i really like the cover art for this album too. they have lots of points in my book right now.

so i haven't actually heard it yet, but i'm still betting this album is gonna be on my (& a lot of people's!) Top 10 Best Albums of 08. Burt Bacharach??? really??? nah. The album feels far too safe by half and not as edgy as earlier stuff. I don't think it shows any musical progression. Still it is a Destroyer album and if it expands the audience that can't be a bad thing. My favorite track....Plaza Trinidad..keeps reminding me of Alice Cooper playing Herod in JCS, but that's not a criticism |
