i wish this wasn't on indietorrents or soulseek. me too. i just logged into oink, and when i saw that this was on there with about 40 leechers and 30 seeders, i felt so sad. and it's a whole 3+ months before it's supposed to be released. any word on who leaked this?

i received it a couple days ago but was told not to share it, so i didn't
i have so much i want to discuss about this album; i can't wait until a few more people have listened so the debates can ensue
and yeah, it sucks that it leaked over three months before its distribution date, as it will be old news by the time it is released, but 5rc shouldn't have delayed the release for so long; i mean, they were done mixing it quite a while ago

thats what i think. i have no idea why they chose september as a release date, thats way far off. it makes the album suffer the same fate as Hail To The Thief (2 1/2 months pre-release) and Frances the Mute (4 MONTHS PRE-RELEASE!!).
and i think the album is incredible.

I've had it a bit also, and I've been able to give it about 5 complete go arounds and I must say that I love it. As far as playing the album completely and without skipping tracks / jumping around the cd, it is my fav. Usually with xiu xiu I have about 6 or so songs from a cd that I love, 2 that I adore, and the rest I like but am not too crazy about. With the air force I love every song.
I like how they balanced their "old" crazy random noises and their "new" structured poppyness.

Is it really coming out in September? I thought they upped the release date to June or July?

musically, i find the album fascinating as there is just as much dissonance as _knife_play_ or _la_foret_ (their two noisiest albums), yet it doesn't seem so due to the production. it's like greg saunier (whatever god may exist, bless him; he deserves to be sainted) or whoever the fuck really produced this blended _la_foret_ with the poppiness of _fabulous_muscles_... everytime i listen to it (at least 3 or 4 in my car, and as many on my computer), i find new bits to become fascinated with
as for specifics, i'm happy the highly political nature of _la_foret_ has cooled off here; the album is much more personal, and that much more heart-wrenching
the themes of this album strike me as being somehow more disturbed/fucked than all of the other albums combined
there's one element that i find oddly lacking, although i'm not sure if it's a good thing: in every album (except perhaps la foret), there is a moment when the tension builds to a moment of release... the tradition began with "i broke up", was carried over into "sad redux o graph", and "i luv the valley (oh)" obviously had it. it's actually the first thing to attract me to xiu xiu back in the day... but this album is oddly lacking the moment of explosion
ok, that's enough random thoughts for now...
