I can't be the only one wondering... why does Japan get two bonus tracks? seems a bit random.

It's not just Owen; Japanese releases are more expensive than Western releases, so they often get bonus tracks in order to convince people to buy them instead of just importing.

"Riverbed" recording was unbelievable. I was surprised at the tempo, I would've expected faster, but it allows it to swing drunkenly along or something. Vid was nice, way to be a 'jerk' Owen. ty ty ty. this must be real fun live. for those unaware: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt8wR8CagQoEnjoyed my first listen to "On a Path" a lot. Coy and careful or something. Very nice to receive on my 22nd birthday. Were the discontinuities between speech and text (stood vs. "stand") and (created by bill, created by vote vs. "by bill, by vote") intentional? for those who care: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMr51844ybw

"On a Path" dang dang dang. "You say you'll never go home, but the truth is you never left it." Daaaaang.

Is it just me or do the vocals in these two songs sound different in some way? Like they're more in the foreground, or have some sort of effect (besides the echoing)?

Did anyone notice Owen playing "Jerk #4" in The Riverbed? I think he's the one in the flannel, you catch a brief glimpse at 2:59. Also curious about who Jim Pallett is. Both songs are a delight.

The Riverbed is like Owen singing with Godspeed You! Black Emperor if both were curated by Jon Crosby of V.A.S.T.
Seriously, I love when songs get BETTER with every listen.

I really hope I don't burn out of these songs. I've listened to them probably about 17 times each in the past two days.

So, I'm curious, how many songs from these sessions ended up being left out of the album and will appear on future releases?
Alpentine lists Black Bishop, Holy Eternal Drone, Vengeance, Contra O Capitalismo, and The Phone Call as "scrapped songs" - are there others?
