As the idea was mentioned in the "Heartland" thread, I agree we need a video games thread, to talk about the old and the new. As far as old ones go, I am a slave to every Zelda since "A Link To The Past," though I sold my Wii due to unhappiness with every title except for Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, and Endless Ocean (nobody knows this game exists, but I mean, you're a scuba diver in the South Pacific befriending fish and other sealife for as long as you want to, how could that not be fun!) Back on the topic of old games, I also played Super Mario World, Donkey Kong series, and every Sonic and Disney Genesis title, not to mention I was crazy into computer games like the King's Quest series. Now on modern games, lately I have been playing nothing but Modern Warfare 2 online, Left 4 Dead 2, and Borderlands. The inner medieval fantasy nut in me picked up Dragon Age: Origins today, now to see if it is any good. What do you play and what do you fondly remember?

Yeah, I can relate 110% on being a slave to the Zelda series. Links Awakening and OOC are def my favorites! The n64 Bombermans were pretty awesome, Bomberman 64 was my first ever video game actually When it comes to modern games though, is the Katamari games on the ps2/psp. Ummm, littlebigplanet on the psp and ocasionally pokemon on the ds haha. Dont have the new gen consoles like wii or ps3 or 360 though.

Hooray! Video games! The nerd in me makes a happy little nerdy dance. Ummm, well... You're not the only person to know about Endless Ocean. I actually have that and played it for some time. So soothing! Dragon Age is pretty awesome, but hard as hell at some points. Well, rather a lot of points, even... Haven't finished it yet though, so NO SPOILERS HERE, please. Who doesn't love Zelda? I think Twilight Princess sums up the entire series and legend, just nicely. Can't wait to see what they're doing with the new one, though. So, old favourites? One of my most played games is Alex Kidd for the Sega Master System. Awful game, really, but the one that came with the console. Also, good old C64 games like Archon and Spellbound. Has ANYBODY played Spellbound? The soundtrack is crazy and the game is really interesting. My first game memories date back to the ZX Spectrum with its rubber keys and cassette games, though. Mostly watching my uncle playing Dragontorc, and imagining amazing worlds despite those games being really really blocky and simple. Whatever happened to that imagination? So sorry. Could go on about this forever. There are so many games deserving more attention, and so many games that people praise that doesn't. I miss the good old point-and-click days with Simon The Sorcerer, Sam & Max and Grim Fandango etc. <3

When I was a kid, I got an amiga one birthday, along with tons of games. The ones I can remember, are still some of my favorite games: Superfrog, B.C. Kid, Giana Sisters (Mario Brothers-ripoff and rival) and Bubba & Stix. When I was 7, I played Diablo for the first time. I was scared out of my mind (it was for 15 years and up after all). Eventually, I toughened up, and both that and Diablo II is some of my very favorites. I can't wait for Diablo III. When I was around 10, me and my sister saved up money for a Super Nintendo, mainly because we both liked Mario games a lot. Unfortunately, no save-function worked on it, so I soon worked out that Super Mario World quickrun, and I sometimes let the console remain on for some days, so that I could actually complete Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. 3. Those were my favorites by far. I loved the other Mario games as well, but that was also mainly what I played. I can barely remember any other SNES-game. (I've barely played any Zelda D:) When I was 7 or 8, I got a Playstation, along with some Mickey game and MediEvil. MediEvil is probably one of my 4 favorite games, along with the Diablo-series, Kingdom Hearts-series and Guitar Hero. The story and setting is loomy and memorable, and the gameplay is just amazing. I also love the Crash Bandicoot games on the Playstation, up to and including The Wrath of Cortex on Playstation 2. Anything after that is garbage. I recently found a copy of MediEvil and one of Crash Bandicoot 1 used <: I was also really into some Tekken games at one point. I also got a Playstation 2. Games I like on that, include Guitar Hero II (which I'm pretty darn good at ), and Kingdom Hearts (1 and 2). When I first played Kingdom Hearts, I was totally awestruck, and it, and later Kingdom Hearts 2, has remained some of my very favorite games. I actually have a lot of Playstation 2-games, but I can't think of any others. I also played World of Warcraft for a couple of years, and I loved it, but when I finished middle school and actually got friends, I didn't have time for it. I have barely played any games at all the last 3-4 years. I've played through the most of Super Mario Galaxy and that Mario DS-game as well as some casual custom-map-Warcraft 3, and I've helped my brother on some shitty and some less shitty games he's got, but not much more than that. I almost forgot about the Heroes-series. I loved Heroes II and Heroes III, and I quite loved Heroes IV as well. I never figured why they didn't combine that active-heroes of Heroes IV with everything else of Heroes III. I think that would have been genius.

Oh, Heroes III was an activity my friends and I partook in every single week when we were younger! I never played the first two much, but I loved the tavern (I can't remember if it was in the first or second) with the hand spastically shaking the ale up and down with a bunch of men yelling "heyyyyy!!!" As far as III goes, I loved the Rampart and Necropolis the most, probably. Ain't nothing like a Ghost Dragon.

The only two video games I've had enough patience to play through were Okami and Psychonauts, and both were delightful and I feel would appeal to everyone here.

I bought the Okami Wii port a while back, I never had the patience to finish it, but got through about 2/3 of it, it is also on my short list of "Wii Games that actually have merit," but it was one of the most beautiful and enchanting experiences I've ever had with any video game. Has anyone here played Braid? www.braid-game.com/It is one of the most hauntingly beautiful games I have ever played, and has an AMAZINGLY tragic soundtrack to go with every moment. Imagine an oil-painted super mario who could control time and space, and you have Braid.

I've got a Nintendo DS so obviously I love Zelda. Currently I'm playing Narnia Prince Caspian which is quite enjoyable. I also really liked Guitar Hero On Tour. For the pc I like Tomb Raider (especially Angel of Darkness) and Croc 2, Freddie Fish and Putt Putt (and other 3 years and older games xD).
