armorgames.com/play/5249/chibi-knightIf you have a spare hour, I highly recommend this. A platformer/RPG in which you control a kirby-sized knight fighting to save the kingdom from three terrible beasts. Challenging, forgiving and pretty damned funny, if you ask me.

I have never been into console games very much. In the 90's I played a Mac only game called Bolo when i was at university. I'm currently recovering from my Warcraft addiction. But I did recently buy a Wii and a copy of Zelda. The housework may never get done again.

I'm currently recovering from my Warcraft addiction. How long have you been cold turkey? It's been about 10 months for me now.

I have only been clean a few months sir. I'm not sure if Zelda will capture my interest or not. I'm used to interacting with people rather than questing alone. Even in the days before the internet was graphical, I was hooked on MUD's. Does anyone here like to do Dance Dance Revolution? I'm thinking about picking it up as my second Wii game.

I think Shadow of the Colossus would have a lot of appeal to the folks here, although I daresay most of you guys have already played it. Big ass "Bruce Willis is a ghost" proportion spoiler to the last selection, but: www.spinner.com/2010/03/05/final-fantasy-owen-pallett-video-games/Ico is apparently Mr. Pallett's top game. When the FBI eventually set up some sort of independent musician videogame criminal profiling unit, it's my door they better come knockin' on.

ADOM would replace Nethack as my #1 rogue-like (and #3 game of all time) were it not for the unfixed bugs and endless numbers of improvements that its creator hasn't implemented, seeing as he's busy playing with his children / living his life.
Shadow Of The Colossus was lovely but I hated having to hook my finger around the "grab" button for hours on end, it threatened to turn my hands into claws.
No games recently, though, I've been reading the Russian Greats.

War & Peace is capable of damaging your grip strength just as much if you carry that damn bale of paper around all day. Spoiler: It's about Russia.
Have you got a PS3? Would The Last Guardian tempt you back to our cold, contemporary embrace?

Rablop, the hurthling necromancer, was killed by a hill orc. He was not particularly religious. Hm. Must try harder. -- Did anyone watch Knightmare when it was on? I think it aired during those strange few months in the nineties where the ZX Spectrum somehow leaked into mainstream culture and there were loads of game-related shows on TV. It had such a creepy atmosphere, and there was something a bit tragic about how nerdy the contestants were... It was like a game where the contestants had to instruct their friend text-adventure style through a fantasy CG-world that had live actors in asking them riddles and trying to murder them etc. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciIfcYwI6Ps

I remember it. It was fucking weird, is what it was. And yes, it was both creepy and sinister in a way which has been thankfully lost to us as both CG technology and our understanding of child psychology have improved.

Knightmare was my favourite TV show back then, with Reboot coming in at a close second.

I only know about two or three people in the world who remember Reboot. That show kicked ass in a really awful 90s CG sort of way, and then got really depressing. Around school we regurally have "God, remember that scene in Reboot" moments. Aaaauuugh, childhood.

I used to watch it without understanding it/liking it, thanks to my mostly French upbringing (as in the language.)
Fun fact about me: I learned english with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Woo!
