turtles in time for super nintendo (i REALLY hope someone else remembers this one) YES!!! This game was one of my favorites as a kid. My band had this idea to get a projector and have two people playing Turtles in Time in the background during one of our shows. We might do it (or the same idea with Super Smash Bros) in Seattle in February because we might be playing the EMP|SFM Skychurch (anyone who's been there knows the giant screen they have). Im not sure if we're playing the Skychurch or a different venue in the same building though because we got into the semifinals of this contest in Seattle and im not sure if the semifinal shows are in the skychurch or just the final show. Also you cant beat super nintendo rpg's like A Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario rpg, etc.

I spent most of my early life holing up and playing games. I really branched out across nintendo consoles and had wii fevor until...you know...no good games came out. So these days I stick with Super Mario World (SNES' killer app, ja) either on console or emulated or hacked...Tetris...the latter two of the Super Smash Bros series...the metroid series (Super Metroid all the way to Metroid Prime(s) )...and Team Fortress 2. The first four I actually have some skill at. I love the SMW engine, so I play a lot of harder hacked versions of it, or boot up the original. Tetris I come back to occasionally. I haven't played Brawl in a while, but I'm very good at it against my gamer friends. Metroid is what I play over exams to take the stress off. And...TF2 is good for kicks.

For the record, I'd like to state that Sonic the Hedgehog was way better than Mario. The games had better characters, more attitude, and an environmental message to boot. Here here! The original sonic sprite (not that weird new one with the weirdly long skinny legs) was a design classic like helvetica or... that curvy chair from the sixties... I remember Sonic being my hero when I was a kid in the early nineties - I really did want to be just like him. I miss the days when "attitude" was such a desirable quality. Oh and the music was amazing too. Spring Yard Zone from the first game is probably the best VG theme I've ever heard. So sad how Sega ended up shoving loads of gimmicks and stupid characters into the franchise. Desperate times for the company I guess. I love Marble Zone and Starlight Zone's music, personally. There's a great piano cover of the latter on youtube. And I also love TF2, even though it's incredibly hard, it's very addicting

I think Shadow of the Colossus would have a lot of appeal to the folks here, although I daresay most of you guys have already played it.

I heard a nasty rumor that it's being made in to a film, and that the writer for the Street Fighter movie has been hired to do the screenplay. When I read that, I thought I was going to be sick...

I just remembered how I loved Earthbound (also known as Mother 2) and am downloading the Mother 3 ROM and the English translation patch. Yay!

Just downloaded Spelunky, a rogue-like platformer. I can highly recommend it, though the control system isn't the easiest to get to grips with.

Really? I think that's about as good as 1 and 2. Tiger-racing was awesome, so was that dinosaur. And the gameplay was pretty similar to that of Crash Bandicoot 2. I was always so annoyed I couldn't get 105% in that game :3 ooh, bad phrasing on my part. i meant to argue that i was offended that you put down Crash Bandicoot: Warped. I love that game to no end. after Crash Team Racing everything died. Ah. But The Wrath of Cortex is that first game on Playstation 2. I really like that one, and I find it really underrated. Imo, the series died after that. And only the first racing game was great, but the 2nd was pretty good as well. I lost my Crash Team Racing, I really miss it :3

I havent played any games for a while. I've had exams and I thought putting my ps3 away would actually make me do some work. This was the day after I bought Modern Warfare 2 so I'm itching to get it back! I love anything call of duty since the first one on PC.
I also love Banjo Kazooie and Tooie on the N64, they really cant be beat. (Apart from Ocarina of Time)
I've had a massive urge recently to play FFVIII again. I never completed it last time, I got to the third disc, then left it to a friend who returned it scratched. It kept freezing after that. That was many moons ago when I was still on the original playstation. I'm hoping it will be available on the playstation store in europe soon.

I played Cave Story a few weeks ago, and it was the most fun I've had playing a video game in years. I'm really not exaggerating when I say it does everything right within the realm of a 2D platformer/adventure game. I couldn't laud it enough if I tried, and, even more impressive, it was made by just one guy over the course of five years. Best of all, it's free to download! Oh, and the music is spectacular. Actually, the part in "A Water Day" when it introduced the 8-bit accompaniment reminded me immediately of playing Cave Story.

I absolutely love Oblivion and Shadow of the Colossus. I'm not sure what's so enticing about wandering around huge, empty, fantastical landscapes by myself, but there's definitely something. Zelda's great, as well. I also have been playing a ton of Sims 2 lately... I barely ever actually play with the people, but I like building houses. It was worth the $20 just to build those ridiculous houses. I play a lot of games from the 90s, too. Has anyone played any of the Monkey Island games? They're really hilarious. I've also been trying to get my hands on LOOM, it sounds really interesting. I kind of like the LucasArts philosophy of not having to reset your console after losing x battle for the nth time.
