That was totally unintentional, a bit silly on my part, and kinda funny.

But, but, but, also! their will be a new The Mountain Goats album with string arrangements by Owen! I Love John Darnielle Like Air! So as far as 2009 releases, this is something that has already been talked about, but it isn't officially out until now, or in a couple of days. Work got it a little early, Inertia aren't too big with the quarantining for release dates. I don't know where you heard I'd been working with The Mountain Goats, but yeah Ooo. Sorry if I've spoiled the surprise. I'll admit, I wasn't very sneaky. I've been trying to get a hold of final-fantasy-eternal's email to order a shirt and haven't been able to get a response. Yesterday I browsed the pages to see if that site still had a pulse. According to the UPCOMING PROJECTS area, it apparently does!

The new Passion Pit album, "Manners" has been leaked for a while. Its really fun 80's synth pop.

I've just gotten in to Dirty Projector's member, Angel Deradoorian's, solo stuff. Her first EP is titled 'Mind Raft'

Ambivalence Avenue by Bibio is best new music rated by forkpitch.
I need to agree. The funkalicious acousmatic tracks are amazingly fun. Looks like overly pretentious women-hating p4k is good for something.

Micachu's Jewellery is absolutely stunning! Was at a concert with her and The Shapes some days ago, and it was amazing.

Polaris Picks???
On the list is... Fucked up, Chad V, Joel P, Watson P, Great Lake Swimmers, Malajube, K'naan, Metric, Elliot BROOD, and Hey Rosseta
Many are calling it a "safe list" whatever that means...
My impression of the Polaris prize is that the panel essentially has to agree to disagree.
In closing Great Lake Swimmers should win. Chad Vangaalen will win.

I would like Malajube to win. I say that Elliott Brood should win. I say that Patrick Watson will win, again... I mean, I like Patrick Watson, but it would kind of suck if he won.

I wish the Polaris prize would stop sucking. Seriously. There have been so many good albums NOT in Montreal / Toronto. Soft Aeroplane was ONE of them.

Opinions! Patrick Watson won't win again--I even thought he wasn't *allowed* to win again, but I can't figure out where I read that--no repeats, or something? Chad Van Gaalen is the favourite, I think. I am happy Fucked Up made the list! Also Great Lake Swimmers--I would be super happy if they won. I am displeased to see Patrick Watson, Joel Plaskett, Metric, and Hey Rosetta on the list (much as I think the albums are good, they aren't *that* good). I'm okay with Malajube and K'naan being back on the list, and Elliott Brood, too.
I wish Bell Orchestre and Junior Boys had made the short list, though. And Women!

I wish Women made the shortlist too. Really great album they put out.
Actually, what really saddens me is the fact that (well, in Montreal) the media doesn't even acknowledge other nominees apart from Patrick Watson, Malajube, K'naan and Metric. They didn't even mention the other nominees!
