It's not an album but the new Dag för Dag EP - Shooting From The Shadows is excellent. I started listening to them last year and love the bass sound mixed with the jangle guitar. They have a few tracks on there website if you want to experiment and see if it's your thing www.dagfordag.com/#music

Quick rundown of some albums so far.
PEACHES "I FEEL CREAM" = Okay. TIGA "CIAO!" = So I gather other people don't like this album. I don't know why not. Its an amazing groove-a-licious dance-filled dance dance dance dance. Awesome. ATRAK - "INFINITY + 1" = Also another super-amazing mix album. Totally swell. PATRICK WOLF "THE BACHELOR" Uhhh, I didn't like it. At all. It was a bit to electro-opera-meets-fall out boy. Sorry. GRIZZLY BEAR "Veckatimest" - YES. YES. YES! YES! YEEEESSSSSS!!! So amazing. Perfect, even.
More are yet to come, since 2009 is a great year for music.

I just found out about the new Alamaailman Vasarat album that came out last month. Probably my favorite so far this year. I recommend it to anyone who's into avant-garde klezmer metal.

Half of the new Mars Volta album has leaked. I'm very excited to hear the rest because the four songs that leaked are probably their best material in years. Definitely better than their last two albums.

Glah! I've just found out about John Darnielle's latest!
Apparently theres an '09 EP released by "Mountain Goats & John Vanderslice" (limitedly available at Beggar's records or on tour) ...which is a little funny considering Vanderslice is/was a mountain goat..
But, but, but, also! their will be a new The Mountain Goats album with string arrangements by Owen! I Love John Darnielle Like Air!

But, but, but, also! their will be a new The Mountain Goats album with string arrangements by Owen! I Love John Darnielle Like Air! Pallett + Darnielle = Magic. He came onstage at the Melbourne show last year and performed Alpha Omega with Owen...it was kind of a dream come true. So as far as 2009 releases, this is something that has already been talked about, but it isn't officially out until now, or in a couple of days. Work got it a little early, Inertia aren't too big with the quarantining for release dates. I have held off agonisingly through all the leaking and the talking and the hyping but I now hold a beautifully legitimate copy of Veckatimest. It. Is. Glorious.

I don't know where you heard I'd been working with The Mountain Goats, but yeah, I did some violin-to-tape in May. His new songs are gorgeous. I hope we can tour together some time...

Ooh, new Mountain Goats. That sounds really great, as does a tour. Nifty. Also nifty: www.americandust.net/news?id=158Sorry if this is a repost! It sounds really interesting, I have to admit to not knowing that much about Judee Sill. Owen's song is called 'The Donor.'
