AHahha welcome to the world of SHZine!

good luck on the studies! well where the emulsion process results in a precises detailed stencil glued to the screen itself, we use blank screens (there simply wooden frames supporting a screen stretched and stapled to it..), we lay the cut stencils on the shirt, put the screens over them, throw paint of the screen, distribute the paint with pressure over the screen on to the shirt with a tool that simply looks like a horizontal spatula and ta-da! i'm starting to get into fancy multicolor stencils where we do layers on the same shirt.. as yesterdays results showed! they seem to be working!

msaramago, I suggest you experiment a lot, because I believe it's good practice (: also, welcome to the forums. I'm pretty much a lurker here Here's the sketch, done in 5-10 minutes, but I like how the face turned out. I don't have any good places in my house where I can sit and draw, so I don't draw much. I did this sitting in my bed. reference: www.last.fm/music/Final+Fantasy/+images/4441813

dunno, I figured it out myself :B it's easy though, just open your reference-picture in photoshop, then add a layer (Ctrl+Shift+N), choose a thin (depending on the size of the image - I used 1 pixel for this one)(usually black) brush for the lineart, and draw. when you're coloring, you should make another layer and place it beneath the lineart-layer so that you don't erase the lineart.

just use a lot of zoom and undo (Ctrl+Alt+Z), and it gets much easier.

jeez... i'm sorry it took me so long... i started med school in the meanwhile, so it just sucked the life out of me... i found this the other day mixed along my paper and i decided to finish it once and for all... so here it is, my work of art. i shall call it "Musical Explosion (or: Owen as a half-smurf half-alien ginger)". Opinions? ;D Attachments:
