It's pretty quiet here and serious too, which is a good thing and a change to a lot of forums. But I just wanted to drum up a bit of community! So pop into this thread and say hello, even if you never post much. Let's let each other know we are about/well/happy/sad/loving FF/loving other things etc etc. Generally get a feeling of togetherness. I'm Julene. 26 and living in London. Textile designer. I think the music Owen makes is fantastic and live he makes my toes curl and the odd tear fall. I think he has pushed ahead of my love for Patrick Wolf. I kinda wish he hadn't sold Adventure.Exe to orange cause it now sticks out like a sore thumb on HAGH.

Hi! I'm Holly. I divide my time between Bangor, Wales and Austin, Texas. I only miss the live music of Austin when I am in Wales. Pretty much the only time I missed lectures last year was to travel to Nottingham to see Final Fantasy. I am a dj for my school's radio station and I dj at a nightclub and have gotten my friends hooked on several bands that rarely ever tour here. heh.
I have lots of musical appreciation, but am severely lacking in any talent of my own. I am attempting to learn to play the drums.

Hola! Ariane (22). I am from Germany and got into his wonderful tunes only this year in april. A friend mentioned his name a few time and what she said intrigued me. After two songs I knew I had to see this lad live! Only two weeks later I went a festival called "Haldern Geht Zelten" and I didn't know what to expect. Needless to say he blew me away. Another two weeks later I went to a proper gig he played in a church. I'm not lying when I say it's the best gig experience I've had until today!

Hello, I'm Esther. I'm from Waterloo, Ontario and major in music (the oboe, hence the name). I first encountered Final Fantasy on the Vinyl Cafe, which led to current interest. I'm also a writer--recently published a full page on the Polaris Prize and Owen in my school's paper.
This is going to be ridiculously cheesy, but I have to admit that FF has given me some hope that I can overcome a bit of my classical music geekiness.

Hello. I'm Chris. I lived in New York City off and on for the past two years. I write poetry. One of my favourite recreational activities is aimless walking. I'm dabbling in keyboard. I listen to music constantly, and kinda feel like the girl in the This is the Dream of Win and Regine video at work, because I get lost in my head while doing redundant mathematics and filing.

I’m Pieter, 22 years old. I’m studying ‘painting’, and I’m in my third year now, although my top ambition has always been becoming a movie director. So that’s what I’m gonna study for next… I discovered FF when Owen opened the first Arcade Fire show I saw, and I’ve realised I could listen to his albums more than the Arcade Fire. I think all the people in the world should be born redheads (real orange ones), and my hobbies include playing the piano, composing little tunes, reading slowly, watching at least 1,5 movies each day and writing.

hey, I'm Gemma, 21, and I'm from Surrey/Southampton in England. I'm in my final year of university doing English and French, I lived in France last year which was pretty good. I think I am going to be a teacher, although I'm not sure. Owen is basically the only music I go and see, because I have no desire to travel into London for anyone else, and the only other music around where I live is pretty shit.

lalala hi, I'm Eveline. I always feel awkward typing out/saying my own name, usually I try to avoid it. I'm 20 years old, live in the Netherlands and I sometimes wish I were more adventurous. After not achieving anything for two years I just started school again (something with graphics), but I'm not really learning anything yet. So I try to make myself smarter by reading books in the train. I'm a bit lazy though. I don't remember how I got into FF, but FF got me into Grizzly Bear and I'm very grateful for that. Since I'm not good with words this took me about 15 minutes to write, maybe more.
I like sheep.

I am Emily and I live in Austin, TX. I am a veterinary technician, a scout/regional rep for a small record label, a children's book author, and a music journalist for a few online and printed magazines. I'm obsessed with music, have seen thousands of bands live, and am constantly listening to and looking for new music. My dad raised me on classical and my mom raised me on rock and folk, so, being the true mutt that I am, I have a particular fondness for musicians who combine the two sensibilities, like Owen. I discovered Owen through the Arcade Fire, Picastro and the Hidden Cameras. He is one of my very favorite musicians. Ever.

I'm Luke, I hail from Vancouver, B.C, Canada. I play an assortment of instruments and enjoy going to the abundance of shows featured in local venues. Uhhh, I also like movies and music?
I just saw Owen over a week ago (after he won the Polaris). One of the BEST shows of my life, neck and neck with The Decemberists. I think Owen wins simply because I have a copy of the set, thanks to this forum ;D. Other than that, I'm pretty much your average post secondary grad looking for a job in my field.
