Hey,
I recently ought my ticket to Xiu Xiu's Sydney show - Thursday 20th April 2006, Hopetoun Hotel. On the main site it says it's 19th April at the Mandarin Club....I am much confused.
I will obviously go to the one printed on the ticket, but maybe it should be fixed up on the main page.
Also, any other Sydney/Australian people going to the show? I was surprised (and happy) when I heard Because Of Ghosts were supporting. I think that's a damn good decision. I also hope they do Asleep live, I will be ever so happy to see that live.

I just found this board... Hi... uhm. I'm going to the Melbourne show and any other in-store or whatnot show that might pop up. Golly. I've been dreaming about what's about to happen on the 21st for a year and a half. I even imagined them playing that the venue they're playing. Gee.

ok ok setlist the thing was kinda mediocre, but it might've been my mood and that I'm a humbug, but I didn't love it don't get me wrong Jamie was fantastic.. I think it was the crowd that got to me and a personal situation that was going down at the same time. I saw heaps of people taking photos so there should be some out there (there was a fucking tool in front of me that either blocked my view with his head -he pushed in front of me- or with his stupid fucking camera, and plus he talked heaps during the songs, what a dick.) There was also a group of girls who obviously came to hear I luv the Valley then go home because they talked really loudly in all the other songs.. but yeah. oh, and the backup group was sucky man, I'm a humbug
anyway
I'm trying to remember what they played I think there were three new songs played, one with Caralee singing that was really poppy, one with Jamie singing 'She was the best that you've had' or will ever have or something, and the best sex that you've had, which was very poppy again (very melodic with a very rhythmic beat), and then there was one a lot more chaotic that I really liked but I'm not sure of the name.
Of older songs, they played don diasco, Hives Hives from Knife Play (only two songs..) and Sad Pony Guerilla Girl (only one song from A Promise shat me, they played it last, much higher than normal with a capo on.. the 7th fret or something up there), they played Fabulous Muscles, I luv the valley Oh and Crank Heart, then Bog People, Pox, Saturn and Yellow RASPBERRY.
Not sure of the order, but that's pretty much what they played 14 songs, went for an hour and a bit

apparently they do not have ink, paper, or photography in australia yet. at the sydney show there was a whole bunch of shitheads who pushed to the front and took endless photos, holding their cameras up in the air and blocking everyones view in fitting with their shithead personas I doubt they will be posting their photos online
