I'm trying to remember what they played I think there were three new songs played, one with Caralee singing that was really poppy, one with Jamie singing 'She was the best that you've had' or will ever have or something, and the best sex that you've had, which was very poppy again (very melodic with a very rhythmic beat), and then there was one a lot more chaotic that I really liked but I'm not sure of the name. I think they played these two video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5378941386431425376&pl=trueyoutube.com/watch?v=7EsPDDzarZY

at the sydney show there was a whole bunch of shitheads who pushed to the front and took endless photos, holding their cameras up in the air and blocking everyones view in fitting with their shithead personas I doubt they will be posting their photos online ahh man.. those dickheads pushed right fuck in front of me, until they did I had a good spot. Actually I've seen the same guys at pretty much every concert I've been to in the last few months. Absolute fucking tools, wanting setlists and chewing memorabilia and taking photos and surrounding themselves with false moments of history to everyone's pissed-off-ness where were you standing? oh and I doubt the shitheads will ever look at the pictures again, just keep them on their cameras as trophies.

they didn't play either of the songs in the first video.. I would've died if they played that version of Apistat Commander.. seriously.. and I would've loved to hear Helsabot.. but the song they played I didn't know.. hmm.. but yep, they played the second one, for sho. Hello From Euclaire, Wi it is then the other song they played reminded me heaps of Frog Eyes's "One in Six Children Will Flee in Boats", because it said something like 'sweeping, sweeping' like the frog eyes song says 'creaking creaking' any help anyone? someone said that Vulture Piano ended with Jamie on harmonica, they totally played that too.

I thought their Melbourne performance was brilliant. They were very tight-knit and they played their asses off! And I've never seen two musicians multi-task so seamlessly. Jamie playing guitar, singing and playing the cymbals with one hand. It was fresh to hear so many new versions of the back catalogue too.
From what I've read here from others, the major problem also was with the audience. There were too many people with camera phones and during quiet songs like Sad Pony Guerilla Girl, people were either talking loudly or laughing at Jamie's voice either when he screamed or if it reached any falsettos. I noticed a few people thought it funny when Caralee sang the final verse of Sad Pony... I don't know why, I thought it was great.
It seemed as though the real Xiu Xiu fans were very few, and the rest of the audience were there just to go out on Friday night, and the rest probably out of curiosity. I heard many people mis-pronouncing and arguing about the name Xiu Xiu over and over again. And the Northcote Social club is one of the most piece of shit venues to come out of Melbourne in the last few years. It was the worst place to host a Xiu Xiu performance. The pub or bar atmosphere does not suite this band. I'd prefer to see them in an unusual setting. In a recent local interview Jamie said that they performed in Italy in an old aqua duct or something? I'll scan a copy of the interview and post it online.

Damn you! I can here to post this. I see you have posted on the archive.org comments section. Anyway, a friend told me the Brisbane show apparently has a soundboard recording which is going to be put up soon.

There's plugins for them to play on your media player. I've had one on my winamp forever. Works great.

.flac is lossless which means youre hearing it exactly how it recorded to the player, as long as mastering wasnt done to alter the sound, etc etc. mp3s are wayyyyy lossy. they sound like tin compared to a flac or shn if you have a decent soundcard.
