when we get our mid cds, will we know who sent them to us? or is it THAT much like secret santa?
to be honest, i'd like to know. i'm too curious for my own good. but if it's more fun to NOT know, then.. i don't know!
let's have a vote?

another rule should be "no people that xiu xiu have been on compilation albums with." thats a good rule! actually(correcting myself), it should be "no people that xiu xiu have done split albums with.". being on a random compilation album with somone could end up on this little game missing alot of good music.

once we've decided all the rules here, i'll send them with the address to each person
i definately agree on the "noone that xiu xiu has worked with/done a split with" and "no xiu xiu"... however, i think there's some room on the other artist rule... it is a mix cd, so if that one 45 second deerhoof track would be the perfect step between track 3 and 4, i'd say go for it

oh, and i think telling the person who you are in some way (return address, shzine userid on the tracklist, etc.) is better... if you love something by a certain artist, that person would obviously be a good place to start for information... i know, for example, that i'll be including at least one or two fairly obscure artists who are no longer together

when you post your adress, you should go back after receiving a cd, and make a note that you got one, and who from, that way we dont have a tally of dr.strangelove: 2898659 and booksoutloud: 2

*nods*
-no xiu or relations through split or work except in emergencies. -userid/name present. [userid is a bit more handy since it is largely how we know each other...]
i don't mind if it is themed or not... but i'd rather the themes were more complex than say... the force feeding of a single emotion or what one thinks to be required listening.

i think it would be a good idea to leave the first mix cd without a theme, and see how it works... if it seems to work well, and people like it, then we can start themes?
oh yeah, i'm going to email everyone the address they should mail their mix cd to on friday, and i figure we'll do it once a month (email out on the 13th)? is that too often?
oh, and one more question... should i include the shzine userid with the address, so you know who you're mailing it to, or keep it secret?
