Once again, this feels like a big change musically. Its about right when Jamie described it as "hairless sounds," or something of that sort. If it WAS Jamie who said that, who knows. I read it somewhere.
Its difficult to compare this to other Xiu Xiu albums, though. It is certainly a different color than Knife Play, which happens to be my favorite album. Still, I enjoy La Foret very, very much.
Anyways, its nice to know that all of Xiu Xiu's music has a broad emotional range. La Foret only proves this more, I feel.

i decided that im going to just hand my money to jame for the album and tell him to pocket it because ive had the album for months when i see him. ill tell him to give some to caralee too. maybe cory. It'd probably be better to buy the album, so the record label sees it as being sold, and they get their money for distributing, etc.

look, i'm guilt-ridden and sick with gratitude, so i'm just gonna order 30 copies of la foret and then a bunch of you can do whatever the hell you want.

i wanted to say something about downloading music, basically that just because it's become so normal to us and we never personally feel the negative impact of it, doesn't mean its right. also the positive that comes from it, like the guy from brazil was talking about, doesn't negate the negative. it's easy, it's normal, everybody does it, none of that equals it being right.
personally i think downloading has done wonders for tons of artists. if jamie thinks he would be making a living from playing music sans the internet, he's out of his mind. but again (to sound like a broken record) that still doesn't make it morally right, not to mention legally.
hopefully none of that came off too preachy or anything like that, just adding my 2cents like everyone else. peace.

At first when i got into Xiu Xiu 2 years ago the only way i could the songs was the Internet. But i have purchased all the albums and they are now much more accessible for me.
