Oh oh! I see what you did there!
Yeah, okay, it makes me feel sad too, because of how much of a nerd I am. It made me feel proud to know a band named after a video game series and it made me feel like I achieved or discovered something. Alas, things like that happen, and I can't help but feel a bit sad, but still happy about Final Fantasy. I am not sure if I am ready to change my files on my computer from Final Fantasy to Owen Pallett yet. I think I'll take a listen or two of yer Final Fantasy years.
tl;dr: I am basically sayig what everyone writes again. To be original, I wil say something compltely unrelated: bamboozle.

I move in geeky circles, and this is going to make our conversations about entertainment considerably simpler from here on out.
So. "Owen from Owen Pallett" then?

Fuck me with a spoon man, that's megalame I got into it purely on the basis of the games name, then you, then the geekiness of it all. Ugh... oh well, I guess I'll mull about and update my itunes then...

Well, Thom had it playing on in the background once and I liked it a lot, then I asked him about the name... etc.

I don't think I'm going to necessarily be changing itunes' artist categories because of this... I don't know. I mean through "2004-2009" Owen Was FF.. this way i can remember that.. Plus, when I type O.Pallett in search, every thing ff comes up anyway since I set that as 'composer' long, long ago...
bamboozle
being original's lame.

i always like the name of his publishing company, Open Wallett. He could go with that.

I wonder how often people will hear his "band" name in person for the first time and think it's "O And Pallet."

I refused to update my iTunes when Santogold changed her name to Santigold... so effing stupid. But I'm prepared to take the plunge this time. Or maybe I'll just do what Richie said. Oh, I don't know.

I just realized-- NOOOOOOOO, MY LAST.FM CHARTS from last.fm : "The name “Final Fantasy” will no longer be used, and previous albums will be re-released under the new name. Fix your tags, and flag Final Fantasy to be corrected to Owen Pallett." pft. I'm not going to let last.fm tell me how to run my life. I'm think I might have to "correct all my tags to O and Pallett just to mess with them.

But he's going to re-package and re-release his Final Fantasy albums under his own name . Oh Damn, I seemed to've skimmed pass that on Owen's first message, too flustered I guess, huh... Well still... If the new releases of old albums have bonus tracks (which I almost hope don't, being it really wouldn't be from those albums) I'd consider those to be "Pallett" releases. I'd like to continue to think of the old ff records as being released how they were. Being this change is for legal issues, I'm just grateful I was able to purchase them first time 'round. Really this name change shouldn't effect us very much.. so long as the music it's self isn't steered differently only to appeal to a more broad group, Owen can go as "Chuck" for all I care.
