Thanks Any further thoughts in structure and use of instruments?

I loved how you changed the style up for each section of the text, very fun. Regarding instrumentation, I would have ditched the cello and written a heavier piano part, but that's just personal taste, there isn't really anything wrong with the way you did it.
In short, I liked, keep doing what you're doing.

Here are two more pieces from the same concert series! www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TXF1k-IgGkwww.youtube.com/watch?v=H8r3WB1H-fAWriting for the piano is kind of a pain to me, because I've been playing it since I was 5 and it pains me to know there's always a better way to write just about anything. I try to use the piano as an orchestral instrument rather than an all-encompassing thing; it was kind of a let down for Arthur, the guy who is playing the piano. He's really really good.

Hi all. I’ve never posted before, but have read along sporadically and found a lot of the conversations pretty enlightening... Here's a humble contribution to this thread ... my violin parts for a song by a friend of mine … any and all feedback would be gratefully welcomed… seayou.bandcamp.com/track/rifle-scissor-stone*** (Explanatory blahblah / disclaimers / etc. ...we've done it live once so far, replacing my undisciplined gazillion tracks with a simplified version of the tremolo/sul pont./double-stops-thingy in the verses and then live loops incl. bass for the refrain/bridge/whatever-it-is and the outro -- looping to someone who's already playing still kinda terrifies me, but it's incredibly satisfying when it goes well. ...contains some "external" inspiration from a certain classical piece (all but quoted in the outro); a beer for whoever's first to recognize it, if you ever end up in Vienna or I ever end up wherever you are... ...not entirely happy with the intonation (sometimes on the verge of being flat -- I may have chosen the "wrong" submix to play with); and not sure whether using baroque violin on the recording was ultimately the best idea … it does make for a certain warmth and a glaringly bright sul ponticello, though… Anyway, way too much said ... I hope that anyone who listens will enjoy it...

I like waiting for the violin swoop in. The tone/intonation you mention, perhaps it doesn't suit you best on the flourishes, but it makes the lines in the refrain-thing really perfect. The overall mix doesn't bind all the parts together as well as I'd like, which particularly hurts the violin, but it's a great tune, would be amazing live.

Here's a humble contribution to this thread ... my violin parts for a song by a friend of mine I know a contribution such as the one I am about to give is of no use constructively, but it sounds really good!

Here's a humble contribution to this thread ... my violin parts for a song by a friend of mine … Yeah this is amazing. Love it. I think the violin's really well recorded, it can be so difficult to get a good instrument-mic combination for solo strings. Bryan in my band did this remix of one of our songs. Thoughts? goodhartslawbrillingerremix.viinyl.com/
