I swear, I have listened to everything that has been posted in this thread, but I can never do it in a timely enough manner so that the discussion has not already moved onto some other awesome forumite music. But, speaking as someone who has tried and failed to write/record music of my own, I am beyond impressed with the talent on this board. Keep it coming! blandine: I did check out the demo reel! I had a good time imagining the kind of scenarios the different snippets would accompany. Definitely sounds like stuff I would want to play an RPG to.

vestenet: Thanks! I've been doing this for a while now, but Brazil is pretty hard for game developing. On the other hand, it might (and this is purely theoretical) be a good place to evolve unaffected by industry standards and such. Maybe not. I don't know. I'm planning some months in LA next year to see how things work in the place where things are done. Thanks again for your review! The string quartet that was going to play my third quartet has just disbanded. It's disheartening.

Thanks Ben! I just got an email today saying my track's been listened to by the producer of BBC Wiltshire Introducing, so cross your fingers it might get played there too . I added you on myspace, btw - enjoyed your tracks :)x

Thanks Matt In other news I've finally found a band to be part of! They're really good and they actually head-hunted me so it's all very exciting. This is them, listen to Useless Things I or II, really great stuff. Also, I now have a radio show! So if you want to hear me and my friend Amélie be very professional and smooth (!) while we get excited about our favourite music, then listen tonight at lsrfm.com, 9pm UK time (BST I think?), only an hour's show. Speak to you all then!

Well, thanks! Not as well as last week which was our first show, I don't think our playlist was as strong this week. We theme our tracks and next week's theme is alcohol/intoxication so if anyone has any ideas, help would be much appreciated!

next week's theme is alcohol/intoxication so if anyone has any ideas, help would be much appreciated! This was a lot harder than I thought! Sounds like such an obvious topic... I managed to come up with a couple of my favourite songs in the end: The Piano Has Been Drinking - Tom Waits A Case Of You - Joni Mitchell Dunno if they're a bit old-school/downbeat, but hope you play them ;D

Ooh, one of my favourite song topics. I have no idea what sort of music you play on this show, but I am about to show some, as we say, Range. Like if I were to make a mixtape with that theme.^ Rye Whiskey by Corb Lund, a catchy tune by the band Library Voices called Drinking Games, any version of What Shall We Do With a Drunken Sailor, Drunk Teenagers by Joel Plaskett, Hurricane Drunk by Florence & the Machine, The Slow Descent Into Alcoholism of course (New Pornographers), Rum for You by one of my new favourite bands, Buke and Gass, Rum & Tequila by the Tom Fun Orchestra, Brandy Alexander (the sexiest ever Feist song), Lilac Wine by Nina Simone - it never fails to make me completely relax when she switches from minor to major, All the Wine by Clare & the Reasons*, Wine Men by the best ever banjo player, Morgan O'Kane. ...and because it would be super fun to mix in with all the pop tunes: a couple movements of Carmina Burana, In Taberna Quando Sumus ("When We Are in the Tavern"), Estuans Interius ("Seething Inside"), etc. Ooh, and maybe some Bartók - "Drinking songs" from Diverse songs would be appropriate. Oh! And absinthe which is a totally awesome piece of musique concrete made of sounds out of a brandy glass recently emptied by Jascha Narveson. ^I really like making themed mixtapes. *I keep thinking that Clare and Antony should do a duet. Vocal timbres! I'd die.

Thank you both! Yes to Feist, Yes to Tom Waits, Yes to Nina Simone, Yes to many others and some I'll have to listen to, but NO to Florence, that woman is a plague on music and society and general wellbeing. And the classical pieces are great! We have a feature called, "I Want To Start Listening To Classical Music But I Don't Know Where To Start, Ben" (!) so one of those will certainly get played! Thanks guys! I'll be sure to credit your input By the way, if either of your musics ever fit the show, would you both be happy with me playing some?
