Perhaps a more 'official' recording will be released after Heartland comes out? They really ought to, this sort of thing doesn't happen all the time. We don't care if it wasn't perfect, perfection is too boring.

man oh MAN but I wish people didn't do the bootlegging. It sucks the magic, guys! I feel like a mom watching my kids smother their pancakes in syrup. You gonna get sick. But go ahead, do what you want. But I've been so excited about this for so long! And tickets from Colorado to New York are expensive! Besides, have you heard these recordings? They're very decent bootlegs, really. Also, when else will we hear Grizzly Bear with an orchestra (More in the future, I hope)? Either way, it sounds beautiful. Wish I could've been there.

But go ahead, do what you want. With respect, there was an Atlantic between me and that show. Should a more offishul recording of any kind surface, I'll be one of the first on board I assure you. But in the meantime, while Bootlegs aren't an ideal way to hear anything, frankly, if it comes down to choosing between a) Crappy quality recording of Final Fantasy (ft. special guest vocals by Guy Announcing His Intention To Go To The Toilet, Asking Girlfriend If She Wants Drink). b) Lady Gaga single. I know where my heart would lead me. That said; syrup metaphor duly and thoughtfully noted.

I (b/r)arely listen to live stuff, unless the quality is close to studio quality. I like most Final Fantasy recordings I've heard, because they're not so loud, and the quality's good. In fact, I had a period I was way too obsessed with The Clash, and I downloaded loads of bootlegs with them, but I soon figured the quality were mainly horrid. I think that scared me away from bootlegs in general.
There are no magic to bootlegs imo, the magic is bound to the moment and presence of a show. I'm not listening to bootlegs to try and summon the magic of the actual show. (Or well, there are magic, but magic as in a studio album, not as in a live show.)

Random band name of the day? (B/R)arely!!!!!!!
There's still ghetto magic in that philharmonic show, like in arctic circle when a few people start cheering and wooting at the beginning and then like, oh right, orchestra.

That's sad about not liking the bootlegs Live recordings are the best. I have songs from FF shows which I've listened to dozens and dozens (and dozens and dozens and dozens...) of times. The word dozens has lost all meaning. What an odd word. But yeah, I love them. And thank you Jason.

Meh, I don't mind. When it's live-only tracks from artists I really like, I accept it. But I usually like studio versions better because of the quality, and recordings of live shows are nothing like seeing the show yourself, imo.
I do have a couple of Final Fantasy shows I've listened to quite a lot. Because the quality's good. And also a bunch of live covers.

For the record, Lady Gaga makes me want to cram glass in my ears. And I like my ears. They let me hear bootlegs.

Here's a link to Gum Drop review (mainly Grizzly Bear with video and mp3 taken from some obscure website. www.up0.net/c.html?rtr=on&s=eafz,6zif,4t6,gg3n,de9c,84od,2svt If you go to the picture trail then your man can be found from 22 ...and I'd like to hear a good recording of CN Tower coz the one on You Tube whilst mind absorbing is just an indication of how good this really was..sorry Owen but you may not do something like this again soon (or near me or ever) so even a crappy recording made on a phone in a handbag is better than a slap in the face with a wet kipper. (no offense to the JT's kind handbag that looked after the phone). There's lots of Grizzly Bear footage appearing but none of he don't want you to ( ) yet Oh and keep away from the carpy leak of the GB album...wait till Dan says it's okay and the weather will suit the mood of the album (allegedly )

Oh yeah, I was tempted to download the leak, but decided not to. And apparently, there's a higher quality leak.
