oh, what a pretty set list! So many songs I love to listen to, and so many songs I'd kill to listen to..
I'm very sad I didn't get to witness it, but I'm very happy for everyone who did. -please, please, please do share stories, pictures, Videos!!
(May 26 -- ah, Grizzly Bear!)
p.s. how'd it feel to be on stage and not have to deal with rosin dust, horse hairs, and loop peals?

The only thing I would've changed would be my confidence level. In rehearsal, the orchestra was sounding more tentative, but they brought it at the performance. Conversely, I thought I could've sung better if I was more relaxed, and if the songs weren't brand new babies, or songs I'm not used to singing that often (Arctic Circle).
Or maybe I just need some reverbs. Those verb'd out GB vox sounded absolutely angelic.
If I can pat myself on the back just once, though, I nailed Horsetail Feathers. *Pat pat pat*.
We didn't get enough rehearsal time to do Ultimatum, E Is For Estranged or a cover of VDP's Palm Desert but... yeah, it was fun and I can't wait for... (shhhhhh!)

It's cruel to tease, sir.

well, I'll say that my sadness was mitigated by the orchestrations. Also, it was quite nice to see Arctic Circle and He Poos Clouds with an actual string quartet.

Well, I certainly hope you'll go on tour with Grizzly Bear. I mean, it would really be awesome to see you and Grizzly Bear on the same show. You should arrange something with them.

I taped the show... though I usually don't let it all out because I fear for those who might be tempted to sell it. I will be putting 4 songs on my Blog tonight hopefully. Right now there are 6 songs from the GB set.

I'll keep an eye on your blog, Jason.
That said, I must say I'm surprised at how slow off the mark our bootlegger chums were for these shows, given the acts involved.

Holy! Holy! Holy!
These are some fantastic bootlegs.
Especially the Tryst one.
I think it helps that I'm playing FF3 on mute while listening to these.

Ah, these tracks were a great thing to come home to! Thanks, Jason. (And while I certainly respect your reasons for not doing so, I must add I couldn't tell you how much I'd appreciate a full recording!)
I'm quite impressed, as per usual. Tryst of Mephistopheles may have usurped The Great Elsewhere as my new favorite new song.
You just can't allow my anticipation for Heartland to wane in the slightest, eh Owen?

man oh MAN but I wish people didn't do the bootlegging. It sucks the magic, guys!
I feel like a mom watching my kids smother their pancakes in syrup. You gonna get sick.
But go ahead, do what you want.

But... But if we don't bootlegg, we'll never be able to hear that magic evening! And the magic would disappear forever! Is that what you want Owen? No magic?
