It's sounding really effing good. But: I'm not playing any violin, I'm just doodling around on a piano while the orchestra hacks away at my arrangements. Nico's arrangements for Grizzly Bear are awesome. Grizzly Bear's new songs are beautiful... and their setlist is stacked.
But, most importantly. There's no Steph Comilang at this show. We're working on a New Thing with her but it was altogether too much to work out the logistics of projections + piano singing + reading music + orchestral crapulence.

Too bad, the projections were awesome. Then again I'm sure anything else you do with her will be just as solid.
Also, you gotta come out west more often, Vancouver's been a bit slow for good shows lately.

I hope someone is going to make a recording (visual or audio) of this. I hate missing out. Have a great time folks who are going. Let us know how fab it was.

Ooo, with the time difference put into account its already Friday in the east coast; those who are going must be eagerly running in circles! no violin or Comilang? how strange. well regardless, good luck Owen!

I will be very sad if you don't at least pick up your violin once during the evening.

If you listen closely, you can hear grammar scream.

and Grizzly Bear were phenomenal. It's weird... I think I gravitate to different GB songs than most people. Easier and Central And Remote are my faves off the last album. Cheerleader, Foreground and Southern Point are my faves off the new one.

well, my friends and i all thought you blew GB out of the water. it seemed like you put a lot more effort into the arrangements (and if you didn't, congratulations because that sounded great).
anyway, i had to change my pants a few times.

Nice set-list Owen, were there any songs you wanted to do but couldn't? Or anything that you would do differently next time?

2 months ago I did fear and hope at the same time that I had to advance, to this week, my trip to NY and did check every week if there was still tickets left. Finally no need to report my vacations, which pleases the future ex-student I am and now, really disappoints the music lover. I have to be patient and wait for future show... in Europe.
