Someone I sort of know (I don't actually know them at all, an e-acquaintance) made a cool OP lyrics bot: twitter.com/owenpallettbotI can't read any of the lyrics without hearing the melody attached - it's become too ingrained

My collection is finally complete!!!! Excellent. You don't see many of those about. I'll never consider my collection complete until that pesky 'Polite Album' surfaces, not that it will happen. Be nice for The Box OST to be officially released rather than having that half legal digital copy. Also Concerto could do with being released.

I didn't think I'd ever see one for sale, I can't believe it And I was so worried it was going to get lost - I've been having problems with things disappearing in the post from Canada so I paid an extra $20 for tracked delivery! That's true! And I still need to buy some of the alternate versions of things - Secret City In Conflict CD, the non-deluxe vinyl, Japanese Heartland (I have the bonus tracks from itunes though), Candian digipack HAGH... what I really want is the original HAGH with all the exclamation marks on the front but it's probably impossible to find! I have the fold up Blocks version though

I'm not enough of a collector to try to find any other version, but just curious.

Yeah I have a fold up one which has the same cover as the vinyl (it just says Has A Good Home l.p.). According to discogs there's the fold up version with no exclamation marks, a Blocks re-release which doesn't have the fold up cover (I thought it was a digipack but I might have made that up) and the European version. The exclamation mark version isn't even listed on there! I think I remember reading that it's the original cover which only the first few had, Jules might know more about it.

There are a number of variants of HAGH cover. I'm not sure the exact order of things but I think !!!!!!!!!! version was any early one before the mushroom duck was re-drawn for the later editions. There is a blocks fold up version without the exclamation marks but which of the many runs it belongs I can't be entirely sure. The european versions used cd or lp. I think Steve Kado did provide an explanation of the album art work ( I think he drew the mushroom duck). I think the earliest version didn't even have artwork. Having a rare version is nice but having the music is all that really matters. If you want to hunt for something really rare...see if you can find 'Electrical Tape - Summer 2004 Mix' ... It's a Toronto DVDs fanzine that includes a feature on Les Mouches.

Hi, friends! I am a stranger here, but I have watched these boards without posting for years. I'm a huge fan of Owen & the work he does. I was first introduced to He Poos Clouds in 2009, when I was 10 years old-- which means that Owen taught me the words "cock", "pussy" and "impotent" through his various discography. I'm nearly 19 now, and as most people do over the course of almost a decade, I've changed a whole lot. I've discovered that I am trans, and more recently that I am autistic. As with many people who fall into both of those identities, I've been abused and used more than a few times. In fact, not a lot has stuck with me throughout these 9 years EXCEPT for Owen's music. When I was a little kid, I emailled him asking for "an interview" consisting of questions such as, "are you an introvert or an extrovert?" And if memory serves, he responded. In 2014 I was at an Owen Pallett concert in Toronto where he played the ballad version of "I Am Not Afraid," and to my surprise, in the middle of the crowd, I cried. I couldn't listen to "I Am Not Afraid" for many months afterwards because the opening chords made me cry. Anyway... it's been a hard year. I haven't listened to much music. But this spring I heard about Owen's upcoming new album and I felt like a happy kid again. I started relistening to all of his discography. For the first time "The Miner Becomes Forgetful" jumped out at me. When I hear, "what of a war-- was there a war?" I think of myself running back to the same hurt and abuse over and over, because I am vulnerable and because I forget I am vulnerable. And yet "My heart is full, my heart is still , and it would take more than a foggy mind to drown it. " My mind might be foggy, and God knows it is, but my heart is always full. Does that make sense to you like it does to me? I don't know if this is the right place for this post. It's not exactly small talk and I didn't expect to have so much to say. But I think I want to get these as my first (real/non-stick-poke) tattoos, on my wrists. I'm not an artist, but hopefully I can find somebody who is and pay them to make them look beautiful. Much love and gratefulness from me to all of you. (EDIT: Oh dear, I just noticed there haven't been any posts here since 2016. I hope this is OK-- can we talk small again?!)

Hi, welcome to the forum! Haha wow, I'm impressed you were a fan at such a young age! Sorry to hear you've been having a hard time, I'm glad Owen's music has helped you. The tattoos sound great, I love the designs! Haha don't worry, of course it's ok for you to post here - it's been quite inactive recently because there hasn't been much news, so it's nice to hear from you

I've started an OP fan account on twitter if anyone's interested: twitter.com/WorldwideOweb My friend joked that we needed a Worldwide Oweb and I thought it was such a good pun I had to make it into a real thing
