Where have the last 10 years gone.... seems only yesterday I was shuffling my feet in audience of approx 200 people waiting to see Arcade Fire at the old Academy 3 in Birmingham (UK)when this fellow strolled out with his violin and I thought.. oh god here we go again. The next 30-40 mins was a revelation..so much so that I even had to scrounge some cash to buy his album as soon as he finished playing. Lucky I did because by the end of the show it had sold out. I bumped into him outside the show and he kindly signed my album. 30 + gigs later and I still get the same joy from each show. Strange as its going to sound..his music has become the background sound to my life and I had this morbid thought.. I'll never live to heard his final album and I bet it will be the best one.. life can be cruel so enjoy what you can of it. Sorry for the ramble.. cheers Owen for a decade of enjoyment  |

Sorry for the ramble.. cheers Owen for a decade of enjoyment Aww I always wished I'd heard of Owen back then (even though I wouldn't have been allowed in venues aged 12!) - I feel like I've missed so much. I've been feeling really nostalgic too actually because today is 4 years since I finally got to see Owen live for the first time. It was the first time I ever travelled to London (or away anywhere) by myself, and I was so nervous I ended up with these crazy anxiety problems and panic attacks. But it was absolutely incredible to hear Heartland live from start to finish and I was so glad I went. Once I'd travelled a few more times I felt totally relaxed about it and now it's my favourite thing to do... so I would encourage people to do things that seem daunting!  And yes, I swear I get more excited with every show if that's even possible! |
