tactics. by far the best ff. second place goes to chrono trigger. Chrono Trigger, while that stole my summer, isn't an FF game. I played through every aspect of that game, and loved every minute. That's one of my all-time favourites. I didn't like Chrono Cross half as much. The music was still great, though.

I'm in total agreement with the two people who said Tactics. Best. Game. Ever.

They wanted to repeat this in ff10, but Tidus was just a dull, womanly beach boy compared to the breathtaking triumph of cyberpunk masculinity that was Squall Leonhart! sorry if i'm dragging up a tired thread... but can i draw the attention of y'all to the NEW hero in relation to these allegations? supposedly the star of FFXII.the guy'd only be vaguely cool in a glam rock setting at best. furthermore, i wonder if their all being near-aryan is a plot point...

He looks like he'll be a cross of Tidus and Squall, but I won't judge him until I've played the game... I've seen other pictures of him and this one doesn't really do him any justice Can't they ever do a redhead?

Personally, I have no problem with Vaan in FFXII. He's not really a main character per se. The whole story covers what happens to Ashe but from Vaan's perspective. I actually like effeminate looking males, but not so much with Vaan. There are hints of Macaulay Culkin in his features.
I've talked to some people who love the Final Fantasy series but refuse to play FFXII on account of Vaan looking "gay".

that is silly. i'll probably get used to Vaan like the rest of them, but i wish they weren't quite so pixie-like.
incidentally, did the FF name link introduce any of you to owen's music? it was pure coincidence with me, but man there are a lot of fans of both...!
