I've talked to some people who love the Final Fantasy series but refuse to play FFXII on account of Vaan looking "gay". Thats pretty silly. How does this person define 'looking gay'?? I must look so heterosexual... Meryl, it was a coincidence for me too. I'd been playing FF for years, and then this guy at the Arcade Fire gig gets on stage and says 'Hi, I'm Final Fantasy'. I was instantly excited as any proper nerd should be

You can get Chrono Trigger relatively cheap bundled with Final Fantasy Chronicles for PS1 (CT being my favorite RPG of all time). Out of the Final Fantasies, I'd have to say that none had the charm or epic scope of FF6. It's that border line of camp and well-driven plot that makes FF6 stand out. Plus Kefka is the best villain in any Final Fantasy Hands down.

How does this person define 'looking gay'?? I must look so heterosexual... They said mostly because he has an effeminate look to him. Probably the softer features and the positive, bright look to him. If he had a dark look it might be different. Also because he's wearing a vest without a shirt, so I suppose the apparel is assumed "gay" as well.
