i think it's terrible but i thought some of you would like to hear it. thank you the dead science for putting a good song on that split.
also, it's a vinyl rip from my old turntable so it may or may not sound good enough for you.
and now that i've done my good deed, could someone upload "Red Croissant" ?

what a creepy song.
certain parts of the vocals remind me of adam sandler doing the thanksgiving song.
juarez.. a reference to the rapes/murders?? (see: at the drive-in - "invalid litter dept.")

what's even creepier is that the song that was on before i put on juarez was fog's 'what a day day' live in dinkytown, which contains a blatent adam sandler singing impression.
weeeeeeeeeeeird.
SOMEBODY GET ME SYLVIA BROWNE.

I bought the 7" a week ago and I think the Xiu Xiu song is really good, very intense, and I'm glad they got Eugene from Oxbow to do the vocals, cause he has a great, terrifying voice.

juarez.. a reference to the rapes/murders?? (see: at the drive-in - "invalid litter dept.") thats what i thought when i saw the name of the song too. my family is from juarez and i lived there for four years when i a was a kid, so when i hear juarez i'm sad to say that negative things come to mind... my older brother was killed there. the rapes/murders/"dissapearances"/drugs/blood/corruption/decay. and recently a friend of the family's two year old son was violently murdered and his mom was attacked and almost raped by a man high on cocaine. i know this stuff happens everywhere, but it just seems like a daily thing in juarez.

that's probably because there's not much else in juarez.

i think the video for 'invalid litter dept.' is must-see. its definitely one of my favorite music videos of all time. what a horrible, horrible tragedy.
and if youre a real ATDI buff, youd also know that Juarez is mentioned in 'Ebroglio'- "in Juarez, Mexico is where they buried my friend". their friend being what the Mars Volta's 'De-loused in the Comatorium' was completely based on.
so anyway, any ideas what this song ('Juarez') could be about? the lyrics are pretty tough to transcribe.
