there's a serge at my work... i always think of him as "sir gay - the knight of gaydom" [he is gay which i guess makes it all the more special]

i had a friend of mine try to convince me that people at xiu xiu shows only wanted to befriend me because i could be their "artsy gay orniment friend" so they could be that much more cool. i thought it was a really bitchass thing to say.

my friends like Xiu Xiu, but they aren't as devoted as I am - which, I guess, is because I'm gay, so I have more a connection with some of the lyrics? but I was also clinically depressed when I discovered Xiu Xiu, and they helped me out of it.
the point being -- do you homos feel more of connection with the lyrics than your straight friends do? this seems like it can get pretty heated.

i feel the same way, todd. i was going through a period of my life where i didnt leave my house except to buy cigarettes for like 3 months because i started having panic attacks (when i discovered xiu xiu). it helped.
my straight friends dont connect to the lyrics like i do either.

it's possible, but i'm xiu xiu obsessed but i'm a straight female. i AM manic depressive, however. there was a point last year where i also didn't leave my BED for eight months and three of those months were a terrible coke binge. xiu xiu has helped me through it all. i'm still a hermit, though.

wow, you guys are messed up. i'm straight, and i can relate to the lyrics as well. I don't think they really are the gender oriented. i mean, numerous times jamie has stated his "bi" orientation. but most of my favorite songs, are the one's where he ballances passion and urgency vocals against insane and rythmatic melodies.
and i mean, there are only like three or four songs where he talks about a gay relationship.

only three or four songs mentioning gay relationships?
i think you are wrong.
i think you need to listen more carefully.

heh, not that particular line of that song, but i have often wondered what he means when he says "my behind is a beehive/ theres a buzz in my backside/ and i wont rest while you break my will"
