everyone here should give a listen to Patrick Wolf's Lycanthropy. It's somewhere between DNTEL, Bjork, Xiu Xiu (it gets quite confrontational) and the Cure (Disintegration era)
lp comes out on tomlab sometimes soon.

i have to second the birthday party. jamie stewart's vocals are tiny compared to nick cave's full-body shuddering groan-singing. and their songs are skillfully played, bombastic like jesus lizard but simpler and more dimensional.
