It's true with most other religions too, and everyone's pleading not to judge their religion by the members, but by its leader. Though followers of a religion are assumed to emulate their leader or founder to some extent, and that may be a fact that is seldom found. I know where you are coming from, but it is just hard not to judge a religion by its followers when they are what make the religion. There would be no such things as Christianity if there were never any Christians. I mean, in all honesty, the only way a religion survives is through its followers, so they are what make the religion. I don't know, perhaps I don't make any sense, it makes sense for me--at the moment at least. I know there are extremists, but if one were to look past those few and look at the majority, I think that one would find the religion itself--the religion being whatever the followers portray it to be.

i think it's the other way around. the majority of christians have it all wrong, whereas a select few only have it partially wrong.

Anton Szandor LaVey was no different than any other guy who claims to know the path of life. To say that he knew what was what is like saying that the preacher at the closest church knows best.
I think that Existentialism is a big part of life, not so much a leader, or being a follower.

the depth of reality is far beyond human comprehension so anyone saying they know "the" truth is arrogant and dilluded. when we discover something we deem a breakthrough, we should say we have found 'a' truth, not 'the' truth. this is a function necessary in any religion. for christians, if you come to a new understanding of the sacrifice of Christ you still must concede that you have not come to understand the full truth and cosmic ramifications stated in the bible in terms of the relationship between God and Man. it keeps you humble and gives you a hunger for knowledge.

I'm not to sure about all these religions. Every religion thinks they are the "right" one. So how exactly do we know? That's right... we don't.

i dont like satan. he lies to me all the time.
if satanism is true (and evil) it seems there would -or should- be an opposing spiritual force, lets say, good. n'est pas?
