ok, i'll review, but not in order of appearances., because cran was all over this one.
franklyn currie was the first non-cran to play. i've known him for a bunch of years, so i feel bad saying that i didn't enjoy his set overly. there were parts that were good, but there were a lot of cliched lines in there that i can't remember today (cliches tend to slip from memories).
happy kreter: not very good at all. he played and sang ok, but was just not very imaginative at all. i respect anybody willing to go up on stage by themselves, but everything he did seemed incredibly formulaic and bland.
i didn't catch enough of johnathan inc to form much of an opinion, so i won't give any half baked ideas.
cran: was the highlight of the night, so it was nice that he played before and after every set, because it made it a lot more bearable to sit through the other acts i didn't enjoy much. for a first show, johnny did really good. he was really nervous, but he dealt with it well, and it actually contributed to a really sincere stage presence. i had only heard 'feign until i die' online, and i was really impressed by the variety of moods and styles he used. some of the songs reminded me of muziq, some of bjork, and some of radiohead, but all of them had a central sound, which i guess is the sound of cran. there was also the self-confessed smiths inspired song which brought some great variety into the mix, and really got the crowd going.
all in all, while the overall show was somewhat dull, cran was top-notch, and i think we can expect good things from him.

Jonny/cran...you were awesome. I totally agree that your stage presence was really sincere and humble and the music was creative and fun.
I'll also say that Jonathan Inc. were awesome. Awesome song writing and really really well thought out songs. Plus something about watching a dude that is so talented and is so smart when it comes to his instrument and the sound that's going out to the audience makes me want to practice guitar everyday for 8 hours.
seriously.
