what genre a band fits in is really a matter of personal perspective......we get told all the time by hardcore kids that we aren't hardcore, we're metal....but all the metal bands we play with tell us we aren't metal, we're hardcore.
I personally tend to think we lean more on the metal side but everybody will have a different idea of where a band fits on the musical spectrum.

And yes Luc, it is a state of mind, but musically speaking, there's obvious boundaries to be broken, embraced, or defied. If a band has no elements of hardcore of any kind in either what they play or their influences, where's the sense in calling them hardcore?
Some of my past bands certainly didn't fit it, I'd say if anything they were more of a sort of post-hardcore band(s), but even that subgenre is such a tangled mess it's not even worth getting into. So, even though we weren't a snapshot cover for hardcore, I knew a fair bit about hardcore, and we still played what I felt was hardcore.

We just started a few weeks ago. You guys would have probabally been way more stoked on my last band, but this one will still be fun! I don't think we're going to take a long time to prepare, but it's in the works!
