But guys, what happened to the Drug Free Rangers? *smirk*
I love this thread, dudes. Seriously.
No offense to the ATT dudes, I'm appreciating you guys a lot more lately, but for the longest time... fuck, I hated you with a burning passion. Musically, you're getting a lot better anyway. I could probabally dissect things and pick it apart, but I still wouldn't call you guys hardcore, still. But, hey, you kids don't know who I am, so what the fuck? Billy hung out with me and my friend once. Yeah. True story. Infact, I think he mentioned this thread and how Kai told him about it, but now that read it I understand better.
I don't know who Mr. Johnny Hughes is, even though I go to my share of hardcore shows, and I'm from close out to the valley.
So, one time Dave Mac introduced himself to me once when I was talking to Chad. I'm just a hippie who listens to hardcore anyway, so what the fuck do I count for? On a related note, my band that has just started has a wicked cover of Ready To Fight. I'm totally ruining it for when we play our first show, but oh well.
Shawn, I love you dudes, and I think you're doing something to expand hardcore (even if you don't really play with "hardcore" bands very often, what you do musically is credential) in many of the ways that I always tried to. Maybe I'm too tired, maybe I'm giving up, but I'm having fun just playing boring old straight up old school. And like Jay says, totally come back and play with them fool! I'll cut you up, from one Sean/Shawn/ to another!

born of ashes aren't a hardcore band...they're a post-hardcore, pre apocalypse, downtuned, speed metal influenced(with definite touches of progressive thrash) hip hop band...shit guys...get it right...

But guys, what happened to the Drug Free Rangers? *smirk* quote] that would be rad but most of us arent edge Anynote... not anymore... you aren't. haha. I'm "joking" and the like. I know some of you used to be edge and aren't anymore, and some of you still are. For those that still are, good for you; for those that aren't, people change, I know that, I just hope that those who were before wasn't anything superficial to back any ego, and that you know you're making the right decisions and not being complacent in doing so! Shawn, as others said, DFR isn't a band, no, but a couple of the dudes are in bands. A couple of them play with In Stride, and another in Break The Chain. Hardcore kids are just snobby sometimes and have a good time. Unless you understand the rouselrubble, it's usually not funny. I know you guys have played with plenty of hardcore bands, but only a couple of times on bills that are really very distinctly hardcore shows (Steveson Mike's wedding show definitely comes to mind, that was a cool show even though I wasn't really into hardcore and had a love hate in a way for that show). RTCW... now that's what I'm talkin' about. I wouldn't really say Born Of Ashes are really hardcore. They're an alright band, but they're not hardcore. Closer to metal, but they have some hardcore influences. But somewhat like Raised Fist yeah, I suppose. Either that or Troy as usual is right...
