Hey guys! As a music aficionado and dilettante, I'm really interested in getting to know your creative processes and thoughts on composition. - How conscious and deliberate is music writing for you? Do you start off with a specific goal in mind or is it more stream of consciousness?
- Do you ever set limits initially (I'll only use the piano), or even randomly pick a condition to follow (much like picking a random word in the dictionary to incorporate in an essay)? Do you find this helps your composition process?
- How important is it for you to be experimental?
- Lyrics first or music first?
- Any other thoughts?
On a less interview-y note, name that one song you've listened to and thought to yourself "God fucking damn it, I wish I had come up with that."
