Despite usual tendencies to the excessive, and barring a magical Feb 31st announcement in Northern Ohio, there's really no way I can catch Owen on this tour. Jonathan Richman's coming through Monday, which is pretty exciting. And April 4th Against Me!'s in Columbus, and the following day Amateur's (2nd) cousin is playing here.
But Owen: have a wonderful time back on the road. All of the new stuff is deeply exciting, and I'll be itching for bootlegs to hear how it works on stage.

I don't know if it's too far in advance to start making requests (or how many I'm allowed to make), but I'd really really love to hear Lewis' Dream in Louisville on April 1st. And the new material, of course. Specifically The Sky Behind the Flag, because I love the lyrics but I haven't heard a single performance of it yet.

I feel like I should probably amend my request for Lewis' Dream since it has never been played live and is, in Owen's words, a "gig."
So in case that's out of the question, I'd be just as happy to hear Fantasy or Odessa.

No, but I'll be happy to answer any questions about the show tonight. I'll write down the set list, too.

No pictures or video, sorry to say, but I have the setlist right here:
Midnight Directives Lewis Takes Off His Shirt Soldier's Rock Tryst with Mephistopheles Infernal Fantasy Song for Five and Six The Riverbed This is the Dream of Win and Regine The Great Elsewhere
Amazing show. Experiencing Mephistopheles live blew me away. Owen will remember me as the guy who was obnoxiously yelling "play The Butcher!" and who came up to him after the show and asked him how many tracks were going to be on the new album (should be about 15, according to him) and what it was like working with R.E.M. (turns out he never actually got to meet them and just worked with Jacknife Lee on the arrangements).
Grizzly Bear was fantastic too, needless to say. On a Neck, On a Spit in particular was definitely one of the highlights of the night.

Also, I lied, I did take one picture but it's super-grainy and didn't come out well. i.imgur.com/NKt55Wk.jpgThat's Ed Droste on the right, if you can't tell.

cobblestone I don't know if it's just the picture, but that looks like Owen is wearing a dress shirt made out of a sweater, which is something I kinda want for myself now.

I don't think it was made out of a sweater, but it was incredibly snazzy. I want one for myself, too.
