My uncle works in Japan, so my grandfathers now and then go there to help them with the kids and such. My grandfather is this very intelligent man, and he eventually learned origami - and he began to make tsuru birds out of every piece of paper we'd come cross. Legend has it that if you accomplish to make a thousand tsuru, you get a wish, he told me. Yesterday I had this great idea of finally learning how to fold tsuru birds, and I will fold a bird for each solo piece I write, and I will write 1000 solo pieces, one for each tsuru. I wrote yesterday a solo oboe piece that I sent Ren's way. The idea is to make them initially short (one page, one minute or so) and, should the interpreter like it and want to play it, develop it to four to six minutes. And by bringing this subject here, I want to open this invitation to all of you guys. I don't know if I will find a thousand musicians to write a piece for each one, but at least the first hundred or so should be personal. I don't know if I should expect an avalanche, but bring it on

I'm gonna say I want in on this and see where it goes. I can't promise commitment, though, it's hard for me to focus on anything at all. Let's say I can sing, play guitar and play cavaquinho, plus I'm interested in electronics and sound in general, however that might come in handy (composing or recording wise). I suppose you'll need specifics on these, just ask me whatever, if you're interested, and I'll PM you.
I'm portuguese too, if that helps avoid communication failures.

Hey! I had no idea the cavaquinho was so popular in Portugal! I am interested and will need specifics - right now I'm composing another piece for the series for the cello, but I would be writing yours in no time. The most important thing I'd need to know is about your way of playing the cavaquinho and the guitar - it comes down to basically whether you're a 'chords' person or if you can read written, 'classical' music. Just PM me in Portuguese and we can talk, ahaha
