Thanks so much guys! I'm obviously really psyched for this! It's a local promoter asked me to play - not Sam or his people(!) - but still exciting to share the bill and meet him! For this very special occasion I'm roping in some friends to play cello+trumpet/tromb+flute with me... I'll see if I can get any audio/video from the night

Boooo shall be at the Birmingham one ^_^ Can hardly turn the chance down after the London Whale Watching Tour performance blew me away. Especially the getting backstage and stealing a Nico Muhly hug, lifetime achievement unlocked!

Oh wow, jealous! Yes, I saw the Whale Watching tour in Reading this year... was amazing. Sam and Nico were both in the foyer afterwards but I was a bit shy to say anything. Such an amazing show that was. Was Barbican a good turn-out? Reading was sadly empty, though it made it feel quite intimate (despite the large venue).x

Was nigh on sold out looking from where I was, I ended up on the front row literally being able to touch the stage, which was a bit strange if I'm honest, lot's of looking up.

Glad it was so packed! Was a real shame about the Reading show, but it didn't seem to reflect in their performance. I was a few rows from the front, but it was literally so quiet that you could pretty much pick a seat. Nice atmosphere though. Did they do "Wonders" with the lovely Helgi Jonsson singing? That was a highlight for me... goosebumps for minutes..... :'

I don't remember them performing wonders, let me check if anyone has a set list.......
1. Theory of Machines (BF) 2. Skip Town (NM) 3. Baby Architect (VS) 4. Saro (SA) 5. I See The Sign (SA) 6. Way Go Lily (SA) 7. Pretty Fair Damsel (SA) 8. Honest Music (NM) 9. Kin (VS) 10. Leo Needs A New Pair Of Shoes (BF) 11. Keep In Touch (NM) 12. Focal Point (VS) 13. Híbakúsja (BF) 14. The Only Tune (NM). Encore: 15. Past Tundra (VS) 16. How Come That Blood (SA)
I couldn't really pick a favourite to be honest Skip town was beautiful to see performed live, and Past Tundra literally blew me away being on the front row, left that concert with my sense of balance completely screwed and unable to hear properly. Worth it!

Yes, Past Tundra was a bit much for me by the end..! It felt a bit like my brain had been pierced. Wonders was the highlight for me, would never have imagined I'd hear that live... and of course all of Sam's stuff, with Nico's arrangments... Awesome.
