Hello! As requested I've written out sheets for a rather crude cover version of "Midnight Directives" which I sometimes play. I moved it up a minor 3rd so I can segue it into one of my own songs afterward (which is in Eb). NB. I've not gone back to the official score to check anything, so sorry for any inaccuracies - this isn't a reduction of Mr. Pallett's orchestration, just a simple piano version worked out by ear... Hope it's some fun for people! Attachments:

Thank you for doing this! Crude maybe, but as a piece of music on its own it's strong, really shining in the second half. Your adaptation of the pizzicato run is good (especially I think to play it, doesn't Owen loop over himself? quarter notes, and then the lick?), and the chords later on are sexy sexy. So yeah, as an adaptation it's blunt, but as a piece I like it lots. I'll try playing it when my album's done (thank you for that HPC score, again).

You're very welcome - enjoy! And ad lib obviously, that's just a structure really. I think the pizz figure he plays with a dotted crotchet (or dotted quaver?) delay... it's in the score book.
I had a gig last night ended up turning into a bit of a lock-in at the bar... and free drinks for bands all night so I'd gotten pretty... drunk. Anyway, there was a bit of a jam and I got the keyboard back out and played some stuff with a drummer joining in, including a slurred and shambolic attempt at Midnight Directives and Flare Gun (as well as Wuthering Heights, Cornflake Girl, Paper Bag, Norwegian Wood and a few of my own - I already played an hour set earlier so I'd pretty much exhausted everything I'd actually practiced...)... It was fun, though I'm sure it was pretty terrible.. haha.
Shall look forward to hearing your album! I have a three-song EP on its way, but it's not due until the end of the summer now. Takes so long :'

Takes so long :' Dotted quaver note delay. And as written, it's a string of two lines of intersecting quarter notes, meaning that you're missing a little bit of (somewhat unplayable) ornamentation. Lock-ins! I wish I had those in my young churchy days, sounds like a blast. Is this a band that you're part of, or organized, or somewhere in between? I think it'd be fun to try touring, but a solo piano thing doesn't sound to good. Having a band there makes even botching songs fun, whereas solo I'd just feel tiny. Oh please don't look forward to it, it's horribly rushed. I'm going to spend the summer retooling it.

But I had a gig on Saturday too and I'd got a band together for the first time - two violins, French horn, double bass and kit. And me. It was awesome fun being able to play my songs something closer to how they are in my head! Doing the arrangements took some time, even just for six of us! Good luck with the album!
