Back in the day, radiohead. Back in the day he walked among us. He still does walk among us...he's not gone all famous on us.. like some others who get their 14.07 minutes of fame. Anyway maybe we've just grown to be a bit more independant.. and can produce our own mindless drivel .. and some of ours is of a much migher standard

I chime in when I feel I can be of use. My name is still legally Michael James Owen Plowright. Pallett is my mother's last name, I've used it since high school. And I started going by Owen because in university there were too many Michaels.

It must have been weird to suddenly change the name you've come to identify with yourself. Do you still ever think of yourself as a Michael?

Or as Final Fantasy or as Owen Pallett or as Michael...names are just names, I think. And if it's too common a name or might inspire a lawsuit, why not change it? It's the music that counts. It is good to hear from you once in a while, big P, still.

Alright then, Owen Pallett is now James Plowright for me. Last.FM will be happy.

I kind of did the same thing... I use my mother's maiden name, and I changed the spelling of my first name because there are so many Emilys in the world. Not so many Emylis though.

Emyli, that's your actual name? That's really cool...I changed my name to Alyssa a while back, but not legally. It was just something I had to do. My last name should be around until marriage.

I haven't done any sort of legal name change yet, but I will. At least for the last name, I can't stand being associated with my bio-dad. Why'd you change yours?

Oh, um. I don't know if people get this yet, but I'm transgender. So yeah, I didn't like a male-gendered name. I want to take my fiancee's last name partially because it means that I couldn't be "traced back" to my family, although it's taken on a greater meaning the more I've come to know her. But no ill will toward my folks, somehow.

Oh, yeah, I think I knew that and then forgot. Easy thing to loose track of over the internet. Well that's a pretty solid excuse for a name change.
