All that they know'd of cottages, cottages buttoned 'em down, buttoned 'em down. Once they got into cottages, cottages buttoned 'em down, buttoned 'em down.

Well, that settles it. I'm sorry I over stepped my boundaries by assuming to know what Owen/you was/were doing. No buttered cabbages, then.

Because of this thread, I've been singing all day, "Cabbages, cabbages, butter them down, butter them down," ha ha. If only those were the actual lyrics. Also, I wish I could comprehend the chorus of Don't Stop. It sounds so pleasant. Maybe a more clear, live recording will surface on the internets/youtube eventually. All that they know'd of cottages, cottages buttoned 'em down, buttoned 'em down. Once they got into cottages, cottages buttoned 'em down, buttoned 'em down. And great! Thanks, Owen! (^_^)

I learnt Don't Stop on looped keyboard today. I just subbed out whatever lyrics owen actually sings for that Byzantine poem I am David Suzuki linked to a few threads down. Sounds pretty swell, with a looped minimal techno beat. Awesome! Post it up? Or send me a link. I've been trying to work out some guitar chords to it - it's something along the lines of Bb - Cm - Dm - Eb I believe. I did try and work out the lyrics but just ended up with a mangled list of words I thought I almost half heard...

Spirit is everything! (That and musical goodness). I like what you've done with it; can't wait to hear it with your new vocalist and the proper lyrics (whenever we work them out).

Hey! I went to the Austin gig (April 30th, last Friday) and my friend and I snatched a chit of paper from the stage after the show. It's what I assume to be lyrics written on the back of a plane ticket ... and it sounds like some of the lyrics could go to Scandal at the Parkade.
Here is what is written, and I can get a scan of the boarding pass if anyone wants it...
"You'll travel hard You'll travel boy You'll have to fight You'll get fucked up Put on that mask Put on that beat Switch up that blade Switch off the bass Keep your plumbing dry Your dick clean and Don't make a story Make a hit
Once they got into ..."
It's all-caps (Owen's handwriting?), so I just put the capitalizations in. Does anyone have an idea what song this could be to, or what it could accompany? He had it on the keyboard for about the first half of the show, he was looking at it during a song (which I think was Scandal, not 100% sure) but it fell off the keyboard midway through. He didn't seem to notice ... so, like I said, snatched it.
EDIT: I keep forgetting that Mr. Pallett himself is a member here ... if you'd like to shed some light on the mystery paper, go right ahead! And sorry if you needed that boarding pass.

^ Definitely "Scandal...". How exciting! It's like a detective story. I love the mental image of Owen sitting on a plane with his torn boarding pass, coming up with new lyrics on the way to the next show!
