A few days ago I didn't even know what Steampunk was; now I'm obsessed. I had been flirting with the idea of dressing up for my street performances, and now I want to go complete steampunk. Is this a lame idea? No it isn't lame! Dooo it!

For real though, they are pretty heavy, I'm like 6,2 and not that weak and almost tipped over once or twice

Wow, Ren, just wow.... those tracks are amazing. Is there a place to buy the whole album? I want to go sit somewhere quiet and listen on nice headphones.
I can't help thinking "someday, when I'm a real composer, not just a freshman music student, I'm going to write awesome stuff like that too!"

I know eh. Someday, when I can afford her, I'm going to make Ren do all of my orchestral arrangements, and then I'll just have to put my name on it.
Keren, I guess I should have known. I do recall the victorian outfits, but I don't remember seeing any rayguns. Anyways, I have a vague idea of what I want to wear, but I have no clue as to where I would find any of that stuff. Even just goggles would look cool. Can you fashelp me?
Accordions are quite heavy indeed. It feels like a bit of a balancing act at first, but if you've ever been 9 months pregnant, you should already know what that's like. I'm not really sure what kind of music is associated with Steampunk culture, other than that Smashing Pumpkins video. I just think it would be fun to dress up and have some sort of visual aspect to the performance.

Hi! Oh! Thanks guys! I'm really glad you like it. If you would like an actual copy of the thing, just PM me your address and I'll mail/email it to you (your choice, although the CD comes with Cover Art printed on the backs of rach 3 postcards)! It would be my pleasure. emyli: awwwww, that makes me happy. This was my graduation project - kinda like a thesis for my BMus? I would say that you are a composer, though! Also Tristan: YES I will do arrangements for free! I need experience if I am ever going to get to compose for a living! DREAMS you know? Also you have been played on CBC Radio 3 so clearly you are a Big Deal. Re: Steampunk: I am totally a dirigible pilot in my spare time. A couple of years ago I got into the DIY thing hardcore - made my own goggles and toolbelt and stuff. We could totally have a kickass steampunk trio.

I just think it would be fun to dress up and have some sort of visual aspect to the performance. That's kinda the reason I started doing steampunk music - the genre's quite loosely defined and none of the bands I could find who defined themselves as steampunk really sounded how I imagined a steampunk band should sound. There's quite a big industrial influence on a lot of them, but that means that they use a lot of synthesizers that just sound anachronistic to me. I'm going for more of an industrial revolution sound

Ah REN! I can't tell you how pretty the album artwork is! I've been listening to the premixed tracks over and over and feel like I know them all by heart already.. oh I would appreciate a solid copy so bad--also! not sure if I ever sent you the final copy of the symphonic bands recording I got! (?) I know I sent the "album cover" but, yes if you'd like a hear...!

Sorry to bombard, another recording! Thought you might appreciate this as it's a Parenthetical Girls cover, but then again you might not as it's not very good. At least I don't think so, but I find it difficult to get perspective, which is kind of why I'm risking boring you all! I will value your input I think, as fellow music aficionados, more than anyone else's. Anyway, no more preamble: A Song for Ellie Greenwich
