Cool, it doesn't sound like past works of yours (maybe the X 7"). Andrew Bird plays on the Lukashevsky EP? ...or is this Stereogum imagery? does this mean my dream of an Owen & Andrew Bird marriage is finally realized? imagine an entire EP by the two what to call it? Oh, this is terribly exciting.
I can't download from Zoilus, either, but the link to the Exclaim (I instinctively put an exclamation point behind their name at first, but no such point exists...) article found there is worth the stop. The masochist in me sometimes prefers hearing about the music more than hearing the music itself.
Heartland sounds like it will be brilliant.

oh wow! The Butcher is great, i'm really liking the sound of Heartland from what i've heard so far
i've not heard the original of Ultimatum, but that arrangement is awesome, Andrew Bird's whistling is dead impressive

The Butcher is fantastic! Ultimatum ... wow! Oh, Andrew Bird...and I was going to ask if Owen had taken up whistling.
Hope to hear both of these tonight!

Andrew takes the whistle solo on Ultimatum. Unfortunately no violin this time round. No vocals, neither. One day, maybe.

Someday whistlers will be a part of all good orchestras.
Someday...

Seeing as I last posted without really having heard the tracks, I think it would be okay to take one more teensy little post, regarding "The Butcher": "Anyway, all of a sudden he said my stomach was so beautiful he wished some officer would come up and order him to stick his other hand through the window. He said he wanted to do what was fair." Uncle Wiggly in Connecticut For the world to be back in balance, I'll probably get hit in the face with a hammer. It's just that gorgeous.

Wow. I was just looking on the internet a couple days ago and wondering when some new stuff was going to be released.
I listened to these on repeat during the unpleasant train ride to work, and I'm in love with all of them, but especially the EP version of the Butcher. These mp3s make me eagerly await the release of the EPs and the LP.
Edit: Actually, this also makes me upset I'm not home in Seattle for Bumbershoot... unless you want to come to Tokyo before the middle of next March...

These tracks are really really rad. I am loving all three.
To increase excitement and shit, the blocks site now have the eps listed in the 'releases' list.

They sound brilliant! The Butcher has been one of my favorites since I heard a live version, so it's awesome to be able to hear a studio version. And Horsetail Feathers was cool live too, but the studio version sounds so fucking brilliant I can't even handle it. Love it.
I am so excited oh god why isn't it September yet aaaaaah

The link for one of the EPs has been leaked online, if anybody is searching for it. Of course, I am planning to purchase both of them when they are officially released...
Also, does anybody know if "The Ballad of No-Face" refers to the character in Miyazaki's "Spirited Away?" I'm just curious.
