check out this article: nymag.com/arts/popmusic/profiles/49277/it’s chock-full of great quotes, and (surprisingly?) accurate information…it seems the author, Jason McBride, is a fellow adorer of all-things-Owen. I was quite surprised to hear that Owen is apparently “co-writing the score to Richard Kelly’s next film, The Box, starring Cameron Diaz.” and on top of this, we are left teased by the existence of a new song from the forthcoming EP “ Plays to Please,” described as “a jaunty Tin Pan Alley style quite unlike anything Final Fantasy has produced before.” ooooooo…cant wait!!! Oh, why does the brain ransom the heart to the mouth?

I remember buying the Parenthetical Girls albums from Slender Means Society and loved the bookishness of the website. I'm just about ready to get excited now..but damn having to obtain an illegal download copy before the actual releases appear this side of the pond via paraffin pigeon post

The latest word is that Arcade Fire's Win and Régine "may perform an instrumental piece or two" with Owen for The Box. But that was announced months ago.

“I’m going to be really happy if these records are hugely successful,” he says, “but I’d also be happy if they’re total failures. Anything that will keep them from being a new Spoon or Okkervil River record.”
Success or failure, touted-yet-middling indie pop is not an option.
Our darling is in town next Friday! I've started to get excited... but back to writing on the Reichstag dome.

"Anything that will keep them from being a new Spoon or Okkervil River record.” Bold move, Mr. Pallett. Your snarkiness is a heady wine I gladly quaff by the bottle.
