now that ryan from the wpp says vote green it's cool...
(fyi the above comment was a joke, i'm not insulting ryan, the wpp, or abbotsford)
dudes we were trying to organize with the green party last year, we held a meeting (adrian carr drove out from vancouver) and only our band and my girl friend showed up. it was posted all over shzine.
secondly - to anyone who thinks voting green is a "wasted vote" you are fucking wrong - since the amendment of the Canada Elections Act, every vote counts. Canadian political parties are no longer allowed to take donations from corporations or unions. To make up for this loss of revenue, each party will be given $1.75 for each vote they receive...
thirdly - stephen harper is really a robot that shoots saw blades out of his eyes.
lastly - the original child bomb show on june 11th will have voter registration info and green party information as well.

i just say that to piss off green voters.
instead of just having the greens, why not try and be impartial and let any party willing to participate come? though im sure many will come with an anti-conservative bias and ask many, many stupid questions.
john duncan, the north island mp, is actually a really good guy. he's a conservative, and fuck knows i dont support their party, but he brought up a good point. not all conservatives follow the party line, and the same goes for other parties. he says he knows a few members of different parties who's stance on issues usually thrown in the conservatices face is quite the opposite of general opinion. he was easily the best politician of the group, the green candidate had no real skill in the debate.
so try and keep an open mind, inviting only the green candidate is a little counter productive. unless of course you asked all candidates, and others refused, because then ill be talking out of my ass.

the NDP has been endorsed by Greenpeace and the Sierra Club. They got better marks from Greenpeace than the Green Party.
They also say they are gonna cut tuition then try to freeze it build affordable housing triple funding for global AIDS releif eliminate taxes for anybody earning less then 15,000 a year stop investing pension funds in big business and weapons manufacturers label all GMO foods make new pay equity laws for women invest in daycare have a referendum on proportional representation moratorium on fish farming
and on and on and on for the first time this year i'm not gonna vote green

i'm voting for the ndp, which is strange, because i'm a member of the provincial green party, though the national party IS a totally different organization. i'm actually reading Jack Laytons book. he's got a tonne of really good ideas in there. one of them is to loan pension funds to businesses to renovate their buildings to be more energy efficient. the loan is then paid back (with interest) with the money being saved on energy costs. after it's paid off, the shop owner keeps the savings. they did this in toronto with jack was a councillor there and it worked great.

On a federal level, I think voting NDP would actually be better than Green. Like pukemastere said, they did actually get better "green" marks as it were than the Green party itself. Don't get me wrong, I think the Green party is great, but I think NDP could be even better, plus they also have a much better chance at getting in than the Green party. So that's why I'll be voting NDP. But I encourage everyone to make their own decision. But remember, any vote against the Conservatives (or Liberals too) is a good vote

Ralph Nader, Michael Moore, and Avril Lavigne all say no to the Conservative Party in Canada. if you want to vote for a party with enough of a chance to get more than a just a few seats for that tiny Parliamentary voice, then cast your vote to the NDP. i know the 'common working (wo)man', and the proletariat needs this party. fall into this category, and we'll see if you aren't on the streets by the next election.
