This forum has been awfully quiet. Sup guys??? Who's In Conflict thirstyyyy?  !!! sooo In Conflict thirsty! I know the post-production of the album takes a really long time, and I appreciate that the band wants it to sound as good as possible, but man... could I ever go for just a single release... ooh, which is a good question: what do you guys think would make a good single? my vote's Infernal Fantasy |

I definitely see either Infernal Fantasy or the title track as the lead single, based on the songs we've heard so far, anyway. Soldier's Rock would work well too. And yeah, I'm also thirsty for more In Conflict, but apparently Owen tweeting less lately means he's hard at work on the album, which gives me hope that it will be done very very soon. Also, does anyone know what the following status is referring to? Sounds exciting. |

Still working, a big holdup is that I can't finish this one song which is unquestionably a HIT, but once the orchestra is tracked I think it'll be a waterslide. Orchestra gets tracked next month. Already the record rules, my best record. It's long insofar as I'm tracking a lot of stuff for it. I'm going to let somebody else pick the tracks and sequence, try and relax the control freak stuff at least for that important decision.
Also, the film I scored, "The Wait", it'll be premiering at SXSW. I was hoping I could get the film score released in 2012 (or 2013) but there's been a hold ups on the other side.
I'm doing a tonne of work-for-others, suddenly, too, which is good!

Oh man, a new Owen post!
Glad to hear it's going well. I'm excited about this HIT, would you mind giving us some lyrics or a title so we'll know what you were referring to when it gets released?
And yeah I'm also hoping you don't end up cutting much, if anything. I've been hyping myself up for a double album.

Also, does anyone know what the following status is referring to? Sounds exciting. This refers to the David Lang composition Death Speaks, which was first performed a year ago by Owen, Bryce Dessner, Shara Worden, and Nico Muhly. David Lang's fantastic, as is the rest of Bang on a Can. I guess the tweet implies that the composition will be recorded by those four, which'll maybe be another Owen-based gift that we'll see this year. |
