I'm DYING to hear something of the studio versions of these songs!!!! *dies an inglorious death* Feed me words, words, words: We are so very lucky that Owen posts his lyrics... and even on request and everything! They leave me in awe, they really, truly do. They're just so FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!! I hadn't heard some of the songs yet when he posted all of the Heartland lyrics up and after just reading them, I found it hard to comprehend how some of the meters might go and yet, of course, they do! It all fits so perfectly. I'm in love with words and it thrills me beyond measure when songwriters put so much thought into their writing. Heartland = Intelligent writing, unexpected rhymes, sometimes unpredictable rhythms and thoughts and feelings that leave you vulnerably bare to the bone... and through it all, a cohesive and intriguing story. And I haven't even fucking heard it for realz yet!!! Yah, well, anyways, I just had to express the wordish-joy. *JOY!!!*

thanks to a very nice person on this board I was able to hear the song now... It sounds quite similar to the live-version he played at the fm4 concert in vienna...but the live version was a bit faster, so it's quite strange to hear the real (and slower) version now...but I like it - a lot

After I got home from the show last night, one of the first things I did was get my download of "Lewis Takes Action." Oh man, is it different from hearing it live, but oh man, is it good. I like particularly the addition of the "Ooo" parts, and I did notice that he had programmed them into his synth. It was awesome! The studio version is slower than I would have expected, but it feels appropriately so the more I listen to it. I can't wait to hear it within the context of the album.

Ok, I can't take it anymore. I keep checking this thread to see what people are saying about Lewis Takes Action and it sounds fantastic. Someone please send it me. I can offer you endless gratitude, or homemade cake if you live in Manchester.

Second that! I can't concentrate on my life anymore! And hey I've seen him live 3 times so it's not like I'd be getting it unfairly...? EDIT: p.s. I'll send you something in return... maybe a little sound recording I have of Owen playing a certain Heartland song in a certain pub car park?

I'm from Manchester too! We can perhaps combine our efforts; a beautiful tower of cake over sunny Manchester.
